Who is John Magowan?

Thought we should get to know our board members. If anyone has any info on John please post here.

So far all I know is that he has a majority share holding in North.

Anyone know how many shares (%) he has?

What are his credentials, his history, his contact detail....etc etc...

Do we know where he stands on GC issue? How can we convince him to join the Anti Relocation Coalition?

John Magowan retired as CEO of Merrill Lynch (Australasia) in 2000, at which time the firm held the leading position in research, equity and private clients in the region, and had a fast growing funds management business. His responsibilities included chairing the Regional Commitment Committee for new equity raisings and being a member of the Management Committee of the Global Corporate and Institutional Client Group.

John had been CEO of McIntosh Securities Limited when it was acquired by Merrill Lynch in early 1997, but spent most of his 11 years with the company heading up the group responsible for raising equity capital. Typically, this group accounted for one-quarter to one-third of the new equity funds raised by companies in the region each year.

Previously, John was Assistant Director General, Finance, of the Treasury of Victoria, following a period as an economist with the Reserve Bank of Australia, during which time he completed a First Class Honours degree in Economics at Monash University.

Currently John is a member of the Victorian Treasurer's Finance Industry Consultative Committee, Chairman of Integrated Packaging Limited, a Director of Swinburne Ventures, a member of Arts Angels Council (following a ten year period as a Director of the Victorian Arts Centre Trust), and a Director of the North Melbourne Football Club.
