We're currently planning out the next year of work and were specifically requested to come up with "training or any professional opportunitites" we'd like to take on.
I said "Pilot's licence".... with a straight face.
My boss just laughed and said "No, I don't think so..... what about training?"
"Light-sabre training"
She wasn't impressed....... "How about some REAL training.....?"
Straight away I said "OK, I want to train with North, but with a guarantee that I can come back after my first dismal effort........ and my second.... and my third and so on....."
There was a pause while she just stared at me, then she quietly said "That's not real training".
And I quickly replied "That's EXACTLY what I've been trying to tell them all year......!!"
She didn't really see the funny side of it at all.
Admittedly though, we went to a mapping conference yesterday and the sample data they used had Arden St appearing over and over, which she thought would keep me happy....... so I'll give her points for that one.
The trouble was they only kept switching to the aerial photos JUST as the hallowed turf was off the display. Dammit!!
