First two songs were very rusty, but after that it was sweet. Sober and Pushit were simply amazing.
They do get a strange crowd though ...

Really? I thought Hooker With A Penis was a really tight opening - was stoked they played Pushit hadn't seen that live and I've seen them quite a few times before. Spewing they didn't play Third Eye that's the one song I was dying to hear live.

Was a bit disappointed with Maynard overall though, was it just me or did he fuxk up a couple of times in Vicarious and just pulled the pin on a couple of verses (including the final verse) of Lateralus? Was weird, usually he's very good but seemed a bit off last night.

Was a good show overall tempered somewhat by the fact it was a prelude to seeing Sabbath on Wednesday!

Oh and in reply to OP this was the setlist off the top of my head

Hooker With A Penis
Vicarious
Sober
Schism
Pushit
Intension
Lateralus
- Intermission -
Jambi
46 & 2
Aenema
Stinkfist

Maynard was certainly a bit off. Came in early at one point and bailed on other lyrics, which told me they hadn't rehearsed enough. Seeing Carey in the flesh made any **** ups worthwhile ...

Danny Carey is the star of that band, my eyes were trained on him in the two Tool gigs I've been to just so I could see if he could reproduce the amazing drumming he does on record.

He delivered.

They aren't coming to Perth on this tour though.

I think it just took a couple of songs for the audio guys to get it right, by the time they got to Sober I thought the sound was pretty good. Sober was prob my highlight of the night.

Thought they were rusty but finished well.

Loved the jams in the middle of Schism and Lateralus..

LOVED hearing Sober played live.

Definitely delivered..

Just got home, **** it was good.

Wish they could have gotten somebody better then some shithouse DJ to support though, it was terrible.

Went both nights in Melb, pretty much the same setlist except they swapped out Vicarious for Opiate (first EP) on Sunday night, was awesome as I'd never heard them do that live.

Cracking show as always and yeah Carey on drums is just a clinic. Didn't notice any ****ups from Maynard, yeah he didn't sing a few lines but have seen em about 6 or 7 times now and thats par for the course for a Tool live show - you try singing that shit live, lol.

46 & 2, Aenema and Stinkfist back to back to back closing the show smashed me into tiny little pieces.

Danny Carey is a god.. honestly, as good as it is he also just makes it look so damn easy.

I wish I saw Tool back in the day when Maynard apparently still screamed. He did a small one when I saw him APC but I would die if I saw him do The Grudge one.

Yeah those last 3 songs rocked wish I had GA tix - unfortunately I was stuck about 10 rows from the back but at least they were straight ahead from the stage, so if there were issues with the mic I wouldn't have been able to see it.

Cool that they played Opiate, always love throwing in one or two old school songs. I've seen them about 6 times and generally the set-list is quite similar, can't remember if I've seen them play Opiate yet.

Annoying, I jumped on Ticketek Saturday and there were still tickets available INCLUDING GA!!! Was absolutely pissed off that a show which purported to be sold out still had GA tix available as well as seating in better position than I had (well closer on the lower level but slightly on the side).

Would love it if they did an Aenima or Undertow tour first one I saw was the Lateralus tour and although their last two albums are still good their first two were the best though there are some good semi-jams on the last two.

Overall never disappointed with Tool and I agree with the consensus, Danny Carey on drums is frankly unbelievably amazing.

Got a free ticket from a friend which was second row from the back. I decided that wasn't good enough so I simply walked down onto the floor. Looked like I belonged and wasn't stopped. Stood about 5 minutes from Justin and had a great night.

No Ticks & Leeches hurts, Danny plays that song possessed. Maynard performed it a few times last year in the US which was surprising, I had high hopes they'd play it here. Nonetheless, looking forward to today's gig in Adelaide.
