We've seen it with Aka, Leppa, Johnno and now Dessie.

Players that had undoubted talent, but didn't quite put it together 'till they got placed in the backline, where they have all become "guns" basically. They all were flashy, but are now pretty consistent, and can be counted on each week. This has been an absolute masterstroke by Matthews - playing guys in the backline to make them mature and improve. Who's next up for the "transformation"?

Bubba's been playing 'down back' in the twos of late. Showing plenty too. Hope the club doesn't move him on because of his dickie shoulder. I'll slit me wrists if we lose a rare talent like that, fair dinkum.

You know, I thought Ashley McGrath was playing really well down there for a while, then he just disappeared.
