I am considering becoming a basketball referee, reason for and against?

Against: Despisement and scorn

FOR: work up to the NBA and tell those street gang* ballers to hit the showers.

AGAINST: those street gang* ballers crew constantly drive by your house

For: Easy way to make cash & massive bludge reffing juniors
Against: You might get abused a fair bit you need a thick skin.

For: Social side. I've met heaps of people through reffing. Easy way to make cash, different perspective of the game.

Against: You really do need a thick skin, especially at the higher levels.

- basketball is so hard to adjudicate IMHO. the slightest touch can be seend as a foul.
- increasing trend of floppers (aka manus)

Starting at the lowest level im assuming

Pros: Easy cash also good pay, Undeserved sense of entitlement, Good way to meet new people.

Cons: Jerks like me will crack the shits at bad calls and possibly insult your family.

For: Your knowlage and interpretation of the rules will improve. Extra exersise. Everyone needs umpires.

Against: You will get abused a fair bit, if you play you will become extra frustrated with poor umpiring.
