i agree with both hawker and jezza on this, it's not like we have a great history of our young'ns developing into superstars. But i also know from many miller interviews that he sometimes doesnt really rate the costs involved in taking a kid so late in the draft, as the odd's of those becoming a 100+game player is incredible small. Also another 'possible' factor is that if you flood your list with so many young guys, its harder to develop them successfully. this is running on the theory that young players require more time by coachs and such to give them the best possible chance to develop. by adding another two onto the list - it takes time away from developing the likes of meyer, mcguane and co. it's another so-so theory, but certainly weighed up against the financial costs, the low odd's of them playing a senior game- let alone 100 - and maybe the fact that miller and wallace simply did not think any of the remaining boys had the required ability to oneday play for the tigers -why we didnt go down that path.
