wierd sound audio problem please help

i have normal internet and computer access, but when i play a video the sound and graphics have a terrible stuttering problem, it sounds as if the sound has the reverberation sound affect on.

video and graphics playback even worse, my drivers are up to date and the problem came out of the blue, any help would be welcome.

the major issue is that the soundmax driver installs a hd sound driver when i only have a standard 3 jack onboard card?

im running vista but that has never been a problem,

this morning i have set my laptop up with my 19 inch screen and it will do me fine dont know why i didnt do it earlier
