No speculating on alleged 'rumours'

Thanks all!

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Only a matter of time(@500 years) before biblical tales are classed as western mythology.

(ducks and runs for cover)

If training with us helps the Larjah Hollands with his troubles, I'm all for it.

He's a good, handy player.

He's no God or messiah but seems to need all planetary alignments and divine interventions to go his way from here.

It’s not surprising that there are differences in the messaging from the club depending on the source.

I know as fact that GW was keen for Elijah to leave, whereas the list management team wanted to retain him and give him a second chance (which is why he was offered a train-on position).

My guess is that these contrasting positions naturally lead to different messages being communicated through separate channels.

I don't think anyone could know for certain what the decision will be in 80 days time.
Interesting, but makes a fair amount of sense. Was GW responsible for the rat pack bring removed from Collingwood?

???

They are great stats for a HF over the first 40 of a career.
To put it into some perspective, Cyril Rioli, over the course of his career (189 games) averaged 15 disposals and 1.46 goals per game.

I dont think you can use stats of young players to quantify impact/talent. Doing so is just a very selective way of justifying an argument.

Elijah has been in the system only 5 years. Came into the system with an ACL and missed virtually all of last year so really only played 3. His career averages arent going to look great.

Cowan as a running HBF (easiest role in the game) has averaged 12.6 disposals across his first 3 seasons (38 games). You'd think hes pretty rubbish based on that. Ollie averages 15.8 across 65 games, as a wing / half back. Much easier role then Elijah

I know, but someone had posted that 16.5 disposals were bad for the position Elijah plays in; it really isn't. That's why I looked at Rioli's record.

Rioli averaged more than double the goals, double the behinds & almost double the tackles and just 1.5 fewer disposals - they aren't close to being comparable players.

In the season Rioli was 23 he averaged 1.7 goals, 15.7 disposals, 5.3 tackles, 1.1 goal assists, 2.3 clearances & 2.1 1%ers - Hollands hasn't got close to that

Rioli was playing in a much superior team; I think their stats are comparable.

Elijah as it stands is still not expected to be on the list come next season.

So clearly if some are being told otherwise the playing group and club must be spilt.
Not to doubt your intel, but clearly he's been in full training, camps etc. with everyone else.
Conversely, I haven't seen a single picture of Will White in any of the training picks.

If they are both vying for the same list spot, It clearly looks to be EH's at the moment.

Will White was visible in a lot of the Lorne camp content.

100%

Delist a kid with issues. Tell him to come back and train. Smashes it.

"Sorry I know you did everything asked of you but it turns out we still can't trust you or look past what you did last year. Best of luck!".

If we are trying to help him deal with his issues, Im not sure giving him false hope will be great for him.
Or we’re providing him with a upfront chance to resurrect his career, by providing him with an open & honest non bullshit reality in it’s more than just getting through a preseason and you’ll be guaranteed a rookie spot…

There's no logical reason we'd bring him to train on for a final list spot if we're no chance of picking him. And if that truly is our plan, whoever was in charge of formulating it should be shown the door for being a dumbass.

So we're now to believe there's a guy training with the club who is dis-trusted by the playing group, the CEO wants gone, and we're not even considering him for a list spot?

Does that sound at all likely to anyone?

Full credit to Ash Hansen too - he is one hell of a liar.

Will be interesting to see the climb down on here if he ends up with a list spot. Radio silence more likely.

Where did I say he just needs to get through pre-season?
You didn’t, my point was it’s going to take more than just a preseason to be given a chance…
The club should absolutely support him, but need to deliver him a strong and honest message it’s not a given, which I’m sure they have…
For the record, I’m hoping he gets a chance to resurrect his career for the long term..
