No speculating on alleged 'rumours'

Thanks all!

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

The bull ants game this year.40 seconds in.
Moir won the clearance and streamed forward and hits a vfl list player running back towards goal without him breaking stride
Okay then, show me 2 bits of vision ;)

Great pick up by you and I stand corrected. As an aside, Moir's ability to go left or right is a weapon.

It’s going to be a hard sell to the supporters if the club chooses for legitimate but undisclosed reasons not pick up Hollands.
If he is staring on the track in all the main stream media
King Sen fox will be penciling him in.
Not saying the club is painting itself into a corner actually I think I am

Ok here is another at 3.10. Going onto his left opened up the pocket for FY

That game against the ants was when I thought Moir could make it. Before that he wasn’t getting enough of it at the lower level

Fully expect Carlton to fall for EH's gameplan like they did with Mitch Mcgovern. Both conditional players for different reasons. Learn to list players who put in every week.

I just ignore the caveats people like to put around things. The "at this stage" and "as it stands" stuff is just so you can't be held accountable for it later. I thought everyone knew that? Just indicates the info is shaky to start off with and you know it.
It's ironic because it's for people like you, who don't seem to understand that things can change, that these caveats are placed. It doesn't mean the info is "shaky" at all, it's simply stating the obvious for the few people who don't seem to get it.

If I told you I was wearing a blue jumper, then you saw me three days later in a green jumper, would you say that I was lying or that I'd given you bad info? The information was reliable at the time.

Things change - it's not hard to understand. I, for one, am massively appreciative of all the ITK info provided here, whether it eventuates in the fullness of time or not.

I do not agree.

Maybe some people somewhere along the line committed to the "He's lost the trust of the players" line a tad early?

Either way who cares? As long as he keeps it together through preseason I think he'll be on the list.

I think the club being desperate for list spots also played a part.

I don't disagree with the clubs handling of the situation though. It needs to sink in with Elijah that he can't take his career for granted. He should never be signed to more than a 1 year contract ever again.

See I completely disagree with the way this has been handled. There is no logical situation where he has stuffed up badly enough to be delisted with a year left to go on his contract, but not badly enough where he can still live with and train alongside the players with the clubs blessing. When you actually think about it it’s absurd. It was strange seeing him plead his case and essentially beg for a list spot in that article back in October, almost humiliating for Elijah if it is purely a personal issue. If it’s a mental health or alcohol issue with light at the end of the tunnel we should be helping him through it. If it is something greater then we’re just wasting everyone’s time having him train on.

As for the list squeeze, Elijah is a top 12-15 player on the list. List spots shouldn’t even be a consideration for a player of his talent. If he did mess up we could delist him in February and pick someone up anyway. We should have ample cap space in 2026 after the off-seasons moves, paying someone out whilst not ideal would not make us tight, I’d guess we’d have more room to move this year than last.

Great post

Having been on here for a long while one thing I learned by meeting some posters face to face or talking on phone is how much you can misinterpret things and people’s points that are written on here. It’s very easy to do

You can’t delist in February and pick up someone else.

Just to clarify for you

Elijah was gone by August. Had done things (that can’t be discussed on here and I am sure there is more to it than I am told) that the club wouldn’t tolerate. Lost trust of playing group. Added to Wright wanting to change culture he was told he was gone and last year would be paid out

He then later went in and apologised to players and people at club. Asked for redemption and a last chance

Several players and a few in LM stood up for him to be given another chance. Since then he has been focussed and worked hard

In the end the club have decided to give him a chance to train for last spot on list (with a number of others) where he will need to prove himself and earn back trust of the group and club. I also believe this is as much about helping him through his issues as well.

What criteria etc is involved I have no idea but these are the FACTS

Talent is NOT the issue

How it plays out or clubs thinking is I have no idea and only time will tell

For me if the club selects him then I will fully support it but we are in December and there is such a long way to go. One training session or time trial is just the start of the journey

Makes a lot more sense Soap when you look at it as an evolving set of decisions starting back in August.

Rather than a single preplanned decision to delist and train-on.
