with kossie out and gehrig may not be back, will ferg play or will they go for watts?

Regardless of whether the G-Train is back or not, I would love to see either Watts or Brooks come in this week to replace Kosi. Brooksy has been in reasonable form for the Scorpions and deserves a recall. Watts has been doing some ruckwork for Casey recently and would be a good replacement for Kosi in the short term.

Good analysis Chris. Could work well with Watts or Brooks particularly if Simmonds doesn't front up for Richmond which would seem unlikely?

I agree, we need another marking forward in the 50 crashing packs. Not sure if Brooks or Watts can do this. A fast leading forward would be good foil to Frase. Although I do not think either of them too fast. A Jason Heatly '97 type!

I really think that Reiwoldt should play up the ground and kick into the 50. I can not see his goal kicking improving too much in the near future.

Is that fair?

Absolutely. Roo is looking MUCH more dangerous when he's running up and down the ground as a tall midfielder, kicking into 50. Let him do what he's best at - running heaps and marking. I think this is the time when, sadly, Blake might need to have a rest - replaced in his role by St Nick.

As for Watts, I think we definitely play him, especially if Frase can't play. Is there any word on where Matty Clarke is? If he's not available to be the second ruck, then well, I think Brooks is the past, we're playing against a young team, and we should maybe look to the future and give Van Rheenan a go. A one-off game for the young bloke would certainly be a morale booster for him. If we wanted to go ruck-nuts, it'd be interesting to do the 3 ruckmen thing, with Rix, VR, and his mentor Clarke guiding him through it... okay, maybe that's a little too much.

Would deffinately prefer them to go with Watts and i think thats what they will do. From all accounts he has been fantastic for Casey Scorpians. Since his injury from what i can see he has bulked up considerably which could be very handy for his game

Ah, when I think of Jason, all I can think of is him hitting the post from 30 out straight in front just before half time in the 97 GF. Really, it's the first thing that I think of. I hate that moment.

Usually a good kick though.

I think of him snapping a goal in the prelim the week before when it bounced over the defenders head in the goal square. I am still yet to watch a replay of the 97 final. I doubt I ever will, unless we win one first.
