Early results suggest they haven't adjusted to new rules all that well. Is it just a matter of time before the big red machine gets back on top, or are we witnessing a new, unrivalled era of F1 competition?

It all depends on how the rules are changed when they meet again. So far Schuey has had a penalty for bad driving, an accident which got more than just him, and some bad luck in Melbourne. Plus he's been driving the slower(ish) 2002 car this year.

He is the best driver in the field in the fastest car, but he just needs things to go his way like in 2001 & 2002. So far they haven't, and if he's up to winning the title this year, watch for a faster, more conservative drive at Imola next week to see where he's at.

He's given Kimi & Coulturd a big head start, but I reckon he's one for the challenge.

Ahh yeah it isnt looking to good so far for Schu, but i wouldnt be surprised at all if he still took out the championship!!

P.S How much does Ralf suck???

Williams have been very ordinary if you ask me - as usual Juan can't put it together for more than 10 laps, and Ralf is overrated.

Montoya was supposed to be the big challenger to Schumacher, but clearly Raikkonen is the driver that will take that mantle, the guy is a superstar.

The real test will be in San Marino. The track is virtually devoid of overtaking spots, and is traditionally a "car" track, where the performance of the machine plays a major part in winning the race. Just have a look at previous qualifying results and see how often teammates qualified on the same row.

Both Ferrari and McLaren get the new car, and Ferrari beat the lap record by over a second at Maranello with it (and the lap is only 58 seconds!). Ferrari will be desparately hoping the car is quick out of the box (which it will be) and more importantly, reliable (which is the big unknown).

It's a big race, because I really get the feeling it will be win or DNF for Ferrari with the new car.

Don't forget there is one race less this year, so if Raikkonen extends his lead next race it will start to get very difficult.
