What an amazing job this guy has done this year leading our backline as the only tall KPD who has made it through every game. Through circumstances he has gone from a marginal to a key player. If he could just eliminate a few errors from his game (like the short pass to Wellingham, and the kick out to Dixon the week before), he could be a very good and solid KPD.
Anyway I just want to give the guy kudos because he has stood up and is still standing up against big odds.

You'd imagine he'd stay a key back, move to CHB next season once Eric's back, leaving McGovern as the loose. From there our next two off the rank are Brown and Barrass, which is just an excellent place to be.

A few errors sure, but also extremely dangerous when he decides to attack, which is one area that he's suffered this year with a bigger role. His taking the game on from the backline is vital - best example is the Hawks game where he cut it off in the centre and took a few on, long kick to JK.

Mackenzie is prone to the exact same kind of errors as Schofield. Usually coughs up a goal a game with a poor kick.

Schofield has been great, as HoneyBadger35 said reckon he's moved up the food chain and is best 22 when the list is fit.

Great year from him, really stood up. Probably a great learning season from him as well having to play on the big forwards, which is something he wouldn't of needed to do that much. Not sure what they are going to do with him and Brown next season, third tall (McGovern) and FB (McKenzie) are locked in.

MacKenzie pretty much eradicated that dodgy kick from his game in the last season or 2. Schofields is usually from poor decision making. Tries to attack too much but you cant always do that when you're the last man in defence.

Brown is the one that is going to miss out next year. We should use him as trade bait.

If we'd actually get anything for Brown, dunno if anyone would go for him considering his injury history. I thought he did well playing on mediums and smalls in 2014, and if him being on the list keeps Yeo out of the backline it's worth it.

I don't think we will drop Brown. Having him in the team will give us flexibility to rotate him and McGov forward. Will also give Shep a run through the middle as well. Simmo loves that shit

You can only play so many talls. We seem to be going with 6 under Simpson. 2 defenders, 2 forwards and 2 rucks. We wont be able to squeeze in all Mackenzie, Brown, McGovern, Schofield, Naitanui, Kennedy, Darling, Sinclair, Lycett and now Barrass, McInnes and Lamb into one team. Other teams are low stocked with reasonable talls. Brown I think would fetch something reasonable from another team. We will probably pick up some new draftees soon too to keep the club stocked for the future.

If a team at the pointy end of the ladder was desperate for mature KPD I can see us getting a pick in the 30s.

With Brown and Emac fit next year, I can see Gov being used up forward most of the time (with occassional stints down back in case of injuries), with Emac at FB, Barrass and Brown fighting it out for the CHB spot and Schoey as 3rd tall. Hoping that Barrass wins out, but another year of WAFL won't hurt.

Brown will be depth when him and Emac are back. Good depth too.

Ideal setup:

Shep Emac Gov
Wellingham Schoey Hurn

Bench: Ellis/Butler/Nelson.

- Gov can be the swingman Simmo wanted early in the year.
- Butler will be depth along with Brown.
- Nelson and Barrass the future.

I remember when he got the corky . Thats when you appreciate how valuable he has been . The thought of him missing a game has been huge all season . As for coughing a couple of goals . Mcgovern has as well . Yeo has . Wellingham . Backline players do coff goals . Forwards waste opportunities as well .

That play is the perfect example of what he can do.
Schofield off half back so he can use his run along the wings, Hurn deep to use his leg out of the B50 and The Gov up forward.

Makes me weak at the knees.

While that is a fair number of talls, it is talls on a list, not talls in a team. Have all those players ever been available at one time. Allow for 3 - 4 injuries (average). Allow for 1 or 2 to be struggling with form. Allow for the need for selection horses for courses changes, and it is about the number you need. Also do not think Lamb counts as a tall.

Always been one of my favourites at the club. Shove that up your pie hole! to those who doubted him early in the season when I said I thought he was good enough ;)

I fully endorse this thread.

Has been a beast. It was mentioned how he appeared to bulk up pre season and thank **** for that.

He has bad a few wtf moments but they just add to schoeys charm.

He still brings out some crazy subtle angled runs when given the opportunity just to remind us hes an attacking defender being restrained though he has shown the lock down suits him. With e mac back next year he can shuffle up to chb and roam a bit more.

Though thats for later. For now will needs to lead us on the path to october

Wouldn't be surprised if Schofield/Macca/McGov will be the 3 talls down back next season. Brown as a backup.

Don't really need McGov up forward. Not a bad "Hunter up forward" move though every now and then.

THere were a few people sinking the boot some time ago. He seemed to have stagnated, even gone backwards actually, even to me, the casual observer.
I have to say, the few games Ive watched, he has been awesome. Has the media taking notice too.
Really great for the club and especially him.

Strong homo for Schomo at the momo. :rainbow::fire::hearts:

Is a borderline 22 player because he makes too many crucial errors - falling over at the worst times, poor decision making and prone to odd shocking kick.

Mackenzie is prone to the odd shocking kick as well but the other 2 are all Schofield.
