Okay, so my brother knocked the PS3 over last night, and the cover has been chipped, and the games don't suck in or push out like they should. I uploaded a short video to youtube showing what I mean, basically what I'm wondering is if I call SONY if my warranty will cover this, or if I'm better off just opening it myself and checking it out.

As said, no they wont

Could try and claim on insurance IF you have Accidental Damage cover, but I doubt that the repair cost would be over the excess

Look, the thing still works basically so just keep using it until it is totally ****ed. You may get lucky and never have to fix it.

Seeing as though the bd-rom drive in-itself has it's own enclosure, I would imagine that it's some of the crushed plastic that's stopping the mechanism from operating correctly. Hopefully you should just be able pry some of the plastic up to enable your discs to insert and eject correctly.

You couldn't seriously think any company would cover damage as a result of your (or your brothers) actions?

I remember hearing something about accidental damage and the warranty, but I didn't remember if it was that they don't cover it, or what so I figured I'd just ask here, I trust people here would know. ;)

And it still works, sometimes it doesn't and I have to fiddle around with it until it starts working again, but will just leave it be for now, it doesn't damage any discs or anything, just a minor inconvenience.
