Doesn't seem as though scores are increasing over time.
Which is probably to be expected. I believe the best players are earning a larger share of the available PPG than previously, but a steady salary cap and MN should be enough to counter that by making them less affordable. Beyond yearly fluctuations based on underpriced/rookie options and individual performances, any sustained score increase would then have to come from a comparable skill increase in coaches at the top end.

And that was what I was looking for. I would have thought that there has been pronounced improvement in the skill level and analysis of the top level of coaches of the past few years. Maybe I am wrong, or maybe it is insignificant in terms of external (luck, injuries etc.) factors.

Yeah. That's what I was thinking, except we don't have that data. I am sure the number of top level performers will have increased, except this has not led to any trend in winning score.

One thing is for sure, the amount of player information available to both hardcore and rookie SC players have increased dramatically in the last 12-24 months.

The competition for a top 1000 spot from here on in will be crazy.

Ling's Bandits actually got up in 2008, Boppin got 2nd.

The spread of where everyone finishes almost always seems to follow the bell shaped curve normal distribution pattern. ie. there is a fair spread of points between the top finishers and then the rest are jammed in until the end where it tails off.

I agree that competition for the top 1,000 will be fierce this year. I reckon there's a number of us out there that have spent that much time studying in the off-season and pre-season that we could have our own Uni degree in this ... which makes you wonder, if you were investing your time elsewhere, just what you might have achieved lol!
