Fremantle: Bradbury stole our tactic!
by STAFF REPORTERS
The Fremantle Football Club is considering legal action over the alleged plagiarism of long-established and copyrighted club matchday tactics by surprise Winter Olympics gold medallist, speed skater Steve Bradbury.
“I think that anybody who has been paying attention to the AFL over the last five years can see that Fremantle pioneered the tactic of performing badly and waiting for the rest of the competition to come back to your level,” said Dockers’ chief exec Cameron Schwab. “That some banana-bender is now claiming he’s the genius behind this in Salt Lake is a bit much for us to swallow.”
Schwab pointed to his club’s determined lack of achievement, from on-field sluggishness to dress sense and pre-match entertainment. “That early trick of having a large anchor dragged across the ground by a bunch of fans in white overalls, topped by a storage container inexplicably in the middle of the ground … it’s taken even the AFL years to bring half time entertainment back to that level – and that’s saying something!”
Schwab said that the club’s long-term goal of dragging the competition back to its standard was on the brink of paying off, with the Dockers beating the Bulldogs last Friday. The Bulldogs were easily beaten after breaking down and weeping at their opponents’ guernseys and skill errors midway through the third quarter.
