The West Coast Eagles where last night hailing Richmond wingman Greg Tivendale for his efforts in making Wirrpanda’s 150th game memorable.
Speaking with a half empty glass of Margaret River Red less than an arms length away, Wirrpanda said that his stats wouldn’t have looked nearly so good without Tivendale’s contribution.
"Yeah, look you always want to make sure that your milestone games are memorable for all the right reasons. With the Hawks result against Geelong ringing around the footy industrial-complex, we couldn’t be sure that this wasn’t the weekend for underdogs. But as soon as Tivva went near that ball . . .well I kind of got the feeling that things were going to fall our way."
When pressed on the exact contribution that Tivendale made to the game, Wirrpanda paused thoughtfully, surpressed a giggle rolled his eyes and continued. "Yeah look, I’d reckon that of my 7 marks tonight, 6 where uncontested and on the end of one of Tivva’s left footed speculators. I ran him down once or twice and those turnovers resulted in goals so you’d have to say that it wasn’t a minor contribution."
While no comment was obtained by puntroad.com from Greg Tivendale, sources close to the coach were investigating the likelihood of swapping the veteran wingman for a case of whatever it was the Wirrpanda was drinking.
