We are approaching the end of the NBA season, therefore the WNBA is just around the corner. It is now time for everyones predicitions. For those of you who arent sure on how it works, I will explain.

They're 2 conferances, an East and a West as per usuall. There is 16 teams in the league, with 8 teams in each conferance. In the play-offs, the top 4 teams in each conferance will play eachother. 1V4 and 2V3. Then the winners in each conferance will play eachother, until they have an Eastern champion and a Western champion. 32 games are what each team plays, usually 17 wins will get you into the play-offs.

Here are the Teams!

EAST

Charlotte
Cleveland
Detroit
Indiana
Miami
New York
Orlando
Washington

WEST

Houston
Los Angles
Minnesota
Phoenix
Portland
Sacremento
Seattle
Utah

The defending champions are the Los Angles Sparks, who accounted for the Charlotte Sting 2-0 in the final. For the sting it was a strange season. They were sitting at 1-8, then finished 18-14, a very strong finish. The first game kicks off at the end of may, with the sparks hosting the Liberty (Newyork).

Now what are everyones predictions for the season?

HERE ARE MINE!

IN THE EAST

1. New York Liberty - (24-8)
2. Charlotte Sting - (21-11)
3. Cleveland Rockers - (21-11)
4. Washington Mystics - (17-15)
5. Detroit Shock - (16-16)
6. Orlando Miaracle - (13-19)
7. Indiana Fever - (8-24)
8. Miami Sol - (8-24)

OVER TO THE WEST

1. Utah Starz - (26-6)
2. LA Sparks - (25-7)
3. Phoenix Mecury - (19-13)
4. Minnesota Lynx - (18-14)
5. Houston Comets - (13-19)
6. Seattle Storm - (10-22)
7. Sacremento Monarchs - (9-23)
8. Portland Fire - (8-24)

To be honest i dont really follow it. I used to go for Phoenix because Michelle Timms played for them but now she's retired so ive decided to go for Lauren Jacksons team....dont know who she plays for though :D

But lets be honest, there only so much womens basketball you can watch before you yearn for a third row rejection or a thunderous tomahawk jam....

hmm...

would rather watch the WNBL...

the US arent that far ahead in womens basketball...

and with the wnbl, more importantly, they are wearing the skin tight lycra stuff.... :P~

I expect the east to finish pretty much as listed. I think LA will win the West and win the league again, but expect Seattle Storm to improve this season, and maybe even make the playoffs. Lauren Jackson has a years experience in the league, and has made further improvements to her game. The American's are hyping her up a little too much, but I've no doubt she'll be the star of the show this season.
