Anyone else read the article on Woey in this months ralph?Yes i know it isnt the greatest in sports journalism, but it was a good read.

Basically said he is completly over melbourne, dissapointed in his whole september finals series, has cut his hair to give him a fresh start to the season and wants to win a second brownlow.

he won't get another brownlow, but he is a class player, and was the best trade at the end of 2002. Collingwood will get a fair few solid years out of him, and he'll contribute his 20 goals a season an 20 quality possessions a game

Melbourne deserve to be spitted for being so stupid. Well done to the maggies on snatching that deal.

melbourne say they need more onballers to help bong boy and yze...how about stephen powell and shane woewodin you wallys.

As a Melbourne supporter, I think we did fantastic out of the trade!!
I cant remember exactly what we got, but I think we traded Woey for pick 12, then traded pick 12 for Chirs Heffernan and pick 16.

So we effictively got Heffernan and pick 16 for Woey.

Heffernan is an in and under player unlike Woey, Heffernanis younger than Woey (by 3 years) and with pick 16 we picked up Daniel Bell who is now in his 2nd year.

Just reserve your judgement for when Woey is 30 and struggling, and Heffernan is still playing and Bell is dominating, the kid is a star - just wait and see.

Also, if you ask most Melbourne supporters, MOST think it was a good move trading himafter they got over the initial shock of it.... Last years Grand Final showed that when Woey was EXTREMLY soft at the ball!

This from someone who supports a team who field 22 soft players every week:rolleyes:

From memory, it was a straight sawp - Woewodin for Pick 16. Don't think Heffernan was any part of the deal. In essence, you got Daniel Bell for Woewodin (assuming thats who you used pick 16 on) If you think that you did fantastically out of the trade, well I guess it depends on how Bell turns out.

I personally expected more from woewoedin last season. played a few good games, but was mostly inconsistent, and yes soft.

I expect much more from a brownlow medallist. At times it disgusted me to watch the match, and to think that we had 1 brownload medalist out there, and it was him, not buckley. obviously thats changed now

If, Dunno4, as they say, you're only as good as your lasr game, can I suggest your lot fielded 22 soft players last September.

Woey's biggest problem at the 'Pies was that he ran to receive as usual and found Nathan was already there !

He had to learn something at Melbourne.

At Melbourne he was a star.

Playing the same at Collingwood, three words describe him:-

DUD DUD DUD.

haha, MGREG whether u like it or not, woey is a good player.

not brilliant, not terrible, but good.

by the way, i love this "bell will dominate" - how many senior games has he played again?????

but if i may share your theory for a second... guess what guys, billy morrison WILL win the coleman in 2006, brayden will go back-to-back brownlows in 2007/08 and heath shaw will win 3 copelands!!!

predicting a player will be good is one thing, but suggesting that a kid who couldnt get a gig when his team was pathetic in 2003 will "dominate the competition" is a bit ordinary

pot calling the kettle black, getting rid of Woewodin was the start of getting rid of soft players, you can build him up as much as you like. proved in the GF just how soft he is, fits in well with the rest of your blokes, SOFT, bottom 6 this year
