Did anyone else only watch 60 minutes to see the story about Woodstock?

I can't believe it is 40 years, I wish I could have been a part of the half a million who got to see the best musicians of all time live.

Rubbish comment.

Woodstock 99 owned all.

I had foxtel at the time, and it unscrambled for some reason! free woodstock!

That's kooky talk.
the orginal Woodstock will always be the king of music festivals.
Woodstock 99:rolleyes:

Did you see it?

It was mental, and had EVERY big band at the time performing.

Metallica and the Limp Bizkit riots were awesome to watch, if the same line up was done again I would fly over for it. (yes I know LB are the gheys, but they were great at the time when I was 15).

Much prefer the violence and mayhem Woodstock than the peace and love one.

Fwiw I would be on acid at either of them.

We need a list to compare the 2 lineups.

99 was okay but the original was the concert of all concerts.
i'm not old enough but watching it last night looked awesome. i would have loved to have been a part of it, just park the car anywhere and rock up, hitchhike to get there and not give a **** how you're going to get home.
hendrix playing star spangled banner on his stratocaster is awesome regardless of it being the yank anthem.
did you see the run sheet that the organise had? ****, you would never get a list like that together in the one place ever again.
if i had a time machine, this'd be the first place i'd set it for:thumbsu:

original woodstock would've been sick as.

woodstock 99 would've been good. at the time the offspring were still a sick band, but on the downside it's hard to know what MUse would've played as they hadn't even released a studio album by then.

I've seen a lot of Bush's set and it's good. RATM and Chilli Peppers would've been good - not too arsed about the others.

Woodstock 69 had a pretty shit set list on the first day but after that it really picked up - Santana, CCR, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, The Who and Jeffersen Airplane pretty much all playing in a row.

Third day was pretty good but a bit sporadic - Joe Cocker, The Band, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and then Hendrix finishing the festival off.

IN saying that, a lot of the bands in between i don't even know. As far as i know they could've been heaps of fun too watch.

Original Woodstock was more about the message then the music IMO and it would've been brilliant to just go there, get a headful of acid and just wander around in a complete haze for three days.

You've got to remember when comparing the two festivals how different the era's are. in the 60's it would've been so hard to organise things, and in the end with only one stage and 500,000 people there it would've been a nightmare (music wise) for anyone not near the stage.

these days festivals are way better organised and there's always stuff to do even when there's no bands on you like - which is pretty rare because of the amount of stages most festivals have.

The lineup of bands who declined Woodstock 69 was equally impressive - Led Zep, Doors, Jethro Tull, The Byrds and Bob Dylan....

How come they didn't run the story on teen suicide?

Apparently Beyond Blue, the depression support group took out an injunction that prevented them showing it. The media have guidelines when it comes to stories about suicide and Beyond Blue believed they had not been followed properly.

That is now two weeks in a row they have pulled the same story. I don't watch 60 minutes but I am keen to see this tory if it ever sees the light of day.

Don't think there can be any question as to which was better.

'69, no questions asked.
