Sorry for the belated response to this - I've been away from civilisation for a while.

But what's going on? Judgey out? Woosh in?

How can anyone say Judge was given a chance to prove himself?

And Worsfold with just one year in an assistant coaching role?

This situation smacks of Collingwoodesque foolhardiness (i.e. misguided faith in a much decorated captain's transition to a forgetable coaching career that cost them dearly in the long run).

Someone please convince me otherwise.......

Yep, I believe KJ had plenty of time to prove himself to be incompetent, disliked, a poor motivator, no accountability by players, tactically hopeless and made WCE into a poor side.

Despite Woosha only having 2 years experience he is widely respected, will insist on accountability and is a passionate West Coast man. I accept he is a gamble but the faith we had in him as a captain is enough to give him a good chance.

Four years at the Hawks, two years at the Eagles.
In that time he proved beyond doubt that he can't coach an AFL side.

Woosha will put pride back into the players.
Pride for their club, and pride in themselves.

Great to see you back McKenna for PM!

I think the club made the right move. We were going nowhere with Judge, perhaps even backwards. Although I think Judge isn't a complete loser and he does have something to offer to a football club, he definately isn't the right man IMO to take charge as full time senior coach.

Is Woosha the man for the job? He can't do any worse then Judge can he! He's a good thinking of football, he played for the club so he knows how it operates, he played with passion so there's no reason why he wont be able to try and get the best out of every player. In his first year at Carlton he was under David Parkin (who I rate very highly) and he worked with a strong football coaching unit at Carlton. I don't expect big things in 2002, but Worsfold should be able to give us a few smiles in years to come.

Welcome back McKenna for PM. With you as assistant coach I think it will be up, up and away for the Eagles from this year on. We all accept that Rome wasn't built in a day and you can see from the other responses that supporters have realistic expectations for the Woosha regime.

Judge has his supporters in the media, he knows his footy and he did his best. But he is not and never will be a successful match day senior AFL coach. 90% of Hawthorn fans aren't wrong. The club made a bad decision two years ago and has had the courage to reverse it when it clearly wasn't working.

Hi McKenna for PM - welcome back!

You must have REALLY been out of civilisation to have only just found out about Woosha!

If you have a look back over previous threads relating to his appointment, you'll see we were all a little divided over whether it was the right thing to do or not. Either way, it's been done! :D

I think that Woosha coaching is going to instill a lot more respect in the players. The players had a lot of respect for MM but I dont think they had that much for KJ. Hopefully Woosha with restore the respect as coach.

Well i look at it this way...was Judge the man for the job, probably not...is Whoosha the right man for the job, i have no idea. BUT can we do any worse than how we were travelling with Judge...probably not.

Can we assume from your return, MacPM, that the campaign to get Bluey into parliament didn't make it past November 10? :)

I baked cakes, held plaquards next to highways, sold my body for publicity - but the morons STILL voted for that little Howard turd.

...they gave me some crap about Bluey's lack of political expertise and experience - but dammit if Pauline can run for senate....

I've been stuck doing fieldwork north of Cairns (yes there are spots further north than Cairns!!!!). But thanks for some assurance that Woosh will be the man for the job. The pessimist in me is screaming something or other but I'm not listening to the bastard. So good luck to Johnny (not the little Howard turd) :)
