Work experience is bull ****.

Haha was about to say that.

For one of my work experiences i just did voluntary work at the MS society coz it looks so sucky on your resume to say u have done voluntary work. Then instead of puttin it under work exp on ya resume put it under voluntary work it looks better. Anyway just do what your parents tell u to do mine went around sayin how ashamed of me they were because i did voluntary work instead of some top**** ****e in an office like the other kids did

If you are going to do journalism, don't go to one of the big media outlets in the city imo.
Depending on where you live try a suburban or country paper.
Yes... I know it sounds less glamourous, but believe me at a big paper you will do stuff all but get coffees and sit on the couch waiting for someone to invite you on a job.

That's not always true. Two years ago I did my work experience at the Herald Sun and it was very full on. I didn't make one coffee while I was there, and got to go into the post-match interviews to talk to the coaches after a Collingwood v Hawthorn match.

I did mine at an Accounting firm a few weeks ago for year 10.

I found it pretty boring...I don't know if I want to be one anymore!! Plus my boss gave me **** comments that I found out today and I'm not happy

And we aren't allowed to get paid here...I didn't know that you did over there? Well lucky you!! I got nothing! My boss forgot about me for nearly a whole day so I basically did nothing until she remembered to show up and give me something to do!

$5 a day is all they have to pay us, so pretty much next to nothing really.

If you get injured on work experience can you claim workcover?
