Wrfl have put together a really weak side, over half the team play B's...
A team of Albion, Altona, Hoppers and Spotty players would make perfect sense. Yet they just didn't pick players from them teams, two qaulity players from Altona, Harris Tracey and Adam Ozzy got dropped from the sqaud, both players would walk into any team in the 18 comp.
And word on the grapevine, Tyler Healy, who has played in the last two interleague teams, didn't get asked to play again this year, although playing seniors, is eligible for another year of 18's...
Just little things that the WRFL are doing that dont make much sense!

Yeah i agree went to watch them when they played riddel.. theres to many B's player they could of picked way more guns from the A's.

Was there a best on ground for 18's?

The WRFL should pick the strongest side available, simple as that. Kids like Healy who are playing 1's should get a look at, it's laughable they don't.

EDFL u18's is a strong squad. There are a few that have being playing senior football.(White,Boyall,Ramsey,Mullin,Duncan,Byrush,Wintle Sinnott & Leech) I think it may be another flogging for the WRFL, as per previous years

Ocean & All, I think you will find that WRFL used to restrict U16 & U18 to those who either aren't listed at the Jets, or played for the Jets. Its a way for some of these players to showcase their skills. As those playing with the Jets have been seen already playing a higher standard of football. Not sure if this is still the case or if the EDFL follow the same guidelines. But lets face it, check their web site and see the number of U18 teams they have compared to ours - their talent pool is far greater with or without TAC Cup listed players. I think all WRFL U18 can hope for is to be competive, but in saying that they could be and still go down by 10+ goals.

Well done to WRFL, they didn't pick any jets players u16,s & the u18,s had a fair few 1st year u18's playing compared to the EDFL who had none. This may have some thing to do with the result last night

Ocean you are spot on with your comments. It should also be noted that the U/18 side was picked from the players who actually bothered to commit to the interleague roster and trained on a regular basis. It was selected with the same criteria that would be expected at club level, players cannot be selected on reputation and past seasons if they dont train and are unwilling to commit. The EDFL side were much to big and to good for the WRFL but at no stage did they roll over and had a real crack all night.
