3 Goals !!!

17 kicks, 4 handpasses, 8 marks, 2 tackles, 6 contested possessions, 1 one percenters, and run and carry - 3 bounces.

Have we finally found our Goal kicking midfielder ?

He is starting to pay us back for the faith we have had in him.

I think he's in for a mammoth season :thumbsu:

he's finally had a full pre-season and is fully fit.

Lyon was right to introduce the sport scientists etc. makes a big difference.

I think it's too early in the season to tell. He needs to be more consistent (as in, doing what he did yesterday in at least 3-4 games out of 9-10). Then I will believe we have found our goal kicking midfielder. Until then, I will continue to show my faith in him. :D

X took a kick on the "Moorabbin" wing late in the last Q and looked as if he pinged something. He couldn't run properly to chase his opponent and pretty much went straight to the bench. No injuries reported in the paper though.

Just a bad cramp?

yeah mmm said at the time he motioned that he was okay and that it was cramp. So no bad news there.

I was a bit disappointed with X in that regard. Schneider was running off, but saw that X had pulled up short. He tried to get X to come off instead but was shooed away. Then X went to another contest and looked even dodgier (couldn't contest) and it ended up being a goal at the other end.

In relation to his form, it's of no surprise to me. I think since he has learned to stay on his feet (took him 2 seasons) and shook off the injuries he's become one of our best players. His tackling has always been first class, and now he's getting back to where he was - remember when he played off half back and would shed through opposition tacklers?

Still a question mark on the set shots, but he's starting to look more confident in front of the sticks.

Shame the newspapers can't ever get his tackle counts right - yet again he had way more effective tackles than what he was credited with.

I've always had big wraps for Xman and hopefully injury free he'll had a big one in 2008!..

X Man grabbed Burkey's number after he retired and it is Burkey's appointment to the board that will make X's career IMO.

The fact that the emphasis is now on the footy department has really had a positive impact in getting players like X on the park.....early days I know but at this stage things are much better than last year on the injury front.

X could get a be in our top 5 by the end of the year.
