I'm not giving my location to a machine!
AFL Club
Brisbane Lions
Other Teams
UQ AFC (My only true team)
As many of you know, I graduated last week from College, and this week I've been contemplating my future. (Oh yeah, was given the all clear from the dermatologist too)

One possibility is I can work for a company my Dad owns. Not bad idea, and I'm getting very tempted to accept it.... but heres the catch

I've just renewed my Lions membership, and the job...... IS IN THE WHITSUNDAYS!

On one hand, my own seat at the Gabba which is like 40 minutes walk from me house.... or moving out of home and heading up north to work in airlie beach......

Tough call, eh? What the f*** do I do?! :(

Apply for a job at the Chalk:thumbsu:

Pfffft, all my friends are bandwagon supporters. I do believe they've jumped onto the Broncos bandwagon, and they know jack crap about League.

And after being dumped overnight by me girl, I think I might take the job actually. I'd just fly down for the weekends

sorry to here that mate :(

knowing how hard it is to find a job atmo - dont knock back one unless you have a job already

as for your seat....im sure one of the ppl on bigfooty lions board would mind your seat for you

Oh Chezwick that is sad! :( But think of it this way... If you go to work with your dad:
1. You can watch our games on tv and may try and come back for a couple
2. You are assured a job and if you really like it and there is a lot of room for going up in the ranks then there is atleast part of your career on a platter
3. It is in the whitsundays!
4. After a year if you decide that you just can't live without the Lions and being in a closer proximity to some of us back here on bigfooty then you have a years experience under your belt, are more employable, and can perhaps apply for a job that wouldn't be open to you at the moment back in Brissy. By that stage our team will be well on their way to climbing back up that ladder to win another premiership.

If you stay in Bris and don't already have a job then you may spend 6+ months trying to FIND a job and then just settling. Then at the end of next year you have half the experience and may not be happy with the job you have landed and therefore may then have to consider moving to the Whitsundays THEN. That or you will spend a long time quite broke or you will spend so long unemployed that you start to lose bargaining power and apeal to the employers. I mean of course if you stay in Bris you may fluke a job in the next month. But you can't rely on it.

Just my thoughts. Whatever you decide to do good luck. :thumbsu:

loz :D

take the job - if you dont have one how could you afford a membership every year

My Dad pays for it :D Got 5 years worth of membership for me 21st :D

All valid and good points :thumbsu: My Dad lives in Spain these days, he just owns my company.

The only real source of cash I've got now is the random jobs at Suncorp Stadium working for Spotless.

Do both. I am sure that you will appreciate both things. You will be working and going to see the lions play.

I do :D:D:D

but im paying for my dads membership as well as mine

How sweet of you. Still not over Saturday night - everyone knows who Travis Dodd is :p . I'm looking forward to our (Queensland Roar) match on Friday night V. Melbourne at Suncorp, I got to see the random guy I see each match again - hopefully at half time we can have our drinks and be happy, by being a goal up or so. I hope we get a good new coach - it's about time we find the winning formulae again - we got no excuses!

go on - I go to all the United games and I have the best time with the atmosphere and its a great standard suprisingly

doesnt matter who I talk to i will always recommend it

I agree with roostersgal4eva, going to the FOOTBALL :p is fun and the atmosphere is the best - no one stops chanting and it's really electric. Remember to yell out and raise your arms and say "bull******** arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when the opposition (Melbourne on Friday) goalkeeper has the ball and is about to kick it. Do whatever roostersgal4eva says, she is right, she even introduced me into the sport back in January and attended two matches then. I love it now and I was pissed off the other week when dad wouldn't take me . It doesn't hurt to try something new, in this case going to the footy. You will enjoy yourself - win, lose or draw. GO ROAR! :thumbsu:
