thoughts...

I thought bit disappointing would of liked at least 50k. rated the supporters passion and enthusiasm for the game which was pleasing to see.

Good point - I thought about it at the time but was distracted by the loss.

Everything was right for a 55 to 60k crowd given the timing and the weather.

even with the pies, any game with the roos in it is not going to get 50-60k.

excluding a final. even then....

Were West coast there back then?

Very disappointing. You put Longmire or Carey as coach & 45k becomes 60k!

NOt only crowd figures go up, our memberships will go up, new faces at the club, more positive media news. No more wooden spoon favourites.

Am i in fantasy land or will this come true?

Didn't seem like 44,760 at the ground.
Lets face it changing the coach would have little effect on the number of supporters going to the games.
We need a few super players.

I thought there was more than 50K at the G yesterday. The joint certainly looked more than half full.

But anything under 60K should be viewed as disappointing. Coming off a decent pre season, new faces and masses of Collingwood ferals looking for a fix of footy and round 1.

If its a poor crowd then the blame can laid at the feet of the supporters.

Cant blame the Pies.
Cant blame the players
Cant blame the coach and
you cant blame the fixturing.

maybe this game should of been played at da dome, better atmosphere for these mid to high 40k crowds.

the official figures are shot for this game apparently heaps of north members did not get counted because the cards were not reading at the gates... of the five that entered in my party on three got counted... the red light came on for the other two and the old timer at the gate just rushed us all in...

I was disappointed in the number of Piefans... would have epected more for round one...

And a truck load left at 3/4 time. I was having a dart outside, giving lip to a few of them on the way out.

At least they weren't there at the final siren to rub my nose in it.

Very disappointing - R1, beautiful day, the Saturday afternoon spot we always say we want more of, four new players on the field, a p[retty strong preseason.

I'd have thought of the 45K, at least 30K would have been Collingwood people. Our turnout was crap. Sometimes I just depair of our supporters - if we wind up playing more games in another city, they can carry the responsibility. And don't anyone tell me again that thousands of them are waiting for Longmire or Carey or someone magic to show up before they will. The club is what counts. If anyone thinks Carey is worth showing up for but North Melbourne Football Club isn't, they can bite me.

By far the most disappointing aspect of the day for me. What happens onfield is so much about luck on the day. The crowd we can get in perfect conditions, with so much good to come and see, is not - it's about our future here.
