I still haven't played much of the first one but I'm putting that down to not liking platformers as much as I used to. (And I 100% DK64 without a guide as a kid)

Banjo did have Grunty's Revenge on the GBA which was top down. It was actually pretty good for the most part. Reminded me of that more than DKC. It's cool that its both side and top down.

But ultimately wanted 3D world to improve. But prehaps its not achievable without either ballooning out dead parts of a world or being to small/linear with thier current team ans budget.

I think this will be awesome, the first was an excellent execution considering the budget and the kickstarter foundations. Given enough budget to work with they could revive the plat-former genre with a blockbuster.
