do they have potential? what do you think?

hbf i hear you are good at this stuff

Please check out the Buddy Draft and use the search function to find other threads/posts first. Most of these guys have been talked about ad nauseum and have numerous threads devoted to them. Austin has had a little less coverage than the others.

I'll give it a quick shot before I get to bed,

sam jacobs: probably too slow for AFL, old type bash ruckman like Lade.

austin: Potentially good KP defender, probably a year or two off

edwards: Project forward, needs to play AFL this season or will be delisted.

anderson: Could be a bigger steal than Westhoff, tallish defender at 187? but very very fast. Probably suited to BP in the immediate future, but could move into midfield in future

Shaky: Jacobs and Edwards
Potential: Austin and Anderson

From what I have seen from limited viewings and heard from guys who watch the bullants more regularly. (Probably seen them all play about 5-8 times each including bullants TV and State underage matches)

Sam Jacobs - Big bodied ruckman from SA. Great tap work but very old very much of the old slow, lumbering type. Is an OK mark when resting foward but overall will REALLY struggle if we draft Kreuzer (go Cotchin) as he doesn't have nearly the potential of Aisake, Hampson and the Kreuze.

Austin - Athletic KPD. Out of all the potential defence prospects we have at the moment (recent draftees), he has the build that is most suited to playing CHB at AFL level. While he does need to put on the weight I could see him becoming that player. Was highly rated as an underage defender but broke his arm in his draft year which saw him slide. He started slowly in the bullants but had a couple of really good performances at the end of the year playing in a number of positions. Very clean classy and composed but needs to raise his intensity.

Edwards - Tall HF with great pace off the mark, strong hands and an accurate kick. Plays a similar role to fisher but is not as good at pack marking. Has never dominated for the Bullants but has showed quite a bit in patches but injuries have ruined his chances to string a good run of games together. Definately has potential but really needs to step up this year or he is gone.

Anderson - Quick, dasing half back/back pocket/tagger. Very tough and won Darwins senior best and fairest award in a premiership year and was close to best on ground in the NTFL grandfinal. Has played pretty well for the bullants without dominating and got a couple of games last year. Struggled at first but then was brilliant against Eaglton in the Bulldogs game. He's one we need to step up as we lack that small defender. Will start the PS on a restricted program.

In order of confidence of them making it, I'd order them:
1. Anderson
2. Austin
3. Edwards
4. Jacobs
