Your absolutely in charge of everything there is to do with Collingwood.

Whats your first point of action?

Coaching Staff - President - Playing List - Weekly Team - Game Plan etc.....

What changes would you make to current situation at the Lexus Centre?

(I have spoken to a few Collingwood supporter mates and general AFL supporters and alot of people have different opinions of what we should do)

How would these changes benefit our beloved club?

Whats your first point of action?

Start right at the top. Ensure the board is making cut-throat decisions using the percentages to move this club forward, and not stagnent. Listen to the majority of fans, because they are also a part of this football club.

Ask Malthouse if he wants to run out his contract with Nathan Buckley as his 'un-official assistant' or to resign during the mid-season break, and allow one of the assistants to finish the '09 season off.

Well with the way things are going, we aren't really moving forward or back. My decisions mean the Magpies will either be winning a Premiership within the next 2-3 years OR we 'fail' and go backwards for a year or 2 under a new coach and be a real challenger in 2011 onwards.

Approach Nathan Buckley and ask him to take an assistant role at another club next year in order for us to potentially look at him the following year if Malthouse is no longer in the job. If Nathan wants to coach at collingwood he can surely wait another year

Piss Malthouse off now..... Let Brad Scott coach for the remainder of the year. Appoint Mark Williams as coach, with Nathan Buckley as his assistant. Make a big play for Kreuzer

I like most, would see the coaching position and its future as the most important factor at the moment, so;

Business point 1

In a few weeks time, when the coaching association would prefer us to give MM information on his future, I would state the following;

That the Collingwood Football Club senior coach position will become available for the right candidate at the end of the year, and that any and all professional football coaches in the code of Australian Rules be advised to apply as they see fit.

This would include an invitation to MM to re apply for the position, and that he be treated like any other candidate, and at the end of this process, most likely around late September, early October, a short list or even a final appointment will be made.

Business Point 2

It is my understanding that at least 2 of the current board positions come up for election at the end of the year. I would open up election rights to all Collingwood members, not just Social club members, and call for all interested and qualified parties to apply for inclusion in the election selection process.

I would place an emphasis on placing at least one new board member with the responsibility of being the football departments representative on the board, and see this as a very important step in our future.

Business Point 3

A thorough and complete review of our fitness and development program, from all full time staff through to part time and volunteers at the club.
This area seems to be a concern, not only based off the recent injury occurrences, but also of the history of fitness and development at the club.

So in summary;

The 3 areas of the club that need the most immediate attention are;

1. Senior coaching position, and all subsequent coaching postions after that.

2. The board, and the need for new football focussed appointments

3. Full review of the fitness and development process.

That's what I'd look at if you placed me in charge.:eek:

Get rid of MM straight away, put in an assistant caretaker coach.
Have a 2 day player seminar ask them what sort of gameplan do you guys want to play? Let the players work on it develop it and have the coach involved to fine tune it and edit it.

Cut all the dead wood at the years end and be brutal about it.
Have Collingwood cultural half day once a week where the following occurs.
Older ex players come in and tell stories and give insight to the group from their footy knowledge and experiences.

Watch old tapes of games, learn about the clubs history, players, sacrifices, heroic acts from different eras on the feild.

And finally find the weaker satistical ares of each player reagarding one percenters and ask each player to set a weekly target and ask them to commit that this will be acheived.

Whats your first point of action?

Telling MM he wont be needed next season and to tell Nathan Buckley to start getting his gameplan and coaching team ready

What changes would you make to current situation at the Lexus Centre?

Clean out the dead wood make some changes in the board and high up

Make a massive play for a star in the next trade period everybody expect Pendlebury is on the market

Make Pendlebury Captain

How would these changes benefit our beloved club?

I see our chance at a flag is 2011 and beyond with have alot of great kids which i think need a new modern gameplan where they do take risk and play with flair

Lets Bucks drill the game plan in and by 2011 it should be set for them to attack the competition

Much like what Geelong and Hawthorn did its all about the team growing together and getting the game plan set wont happen over night

We need a leader who leads from the front in a game which is always in the action i dont care if they sack Maxwell Pendlebury is our man will only grow as a player with this responsibility

see how we go in the next 5 to 6 weeks if we are finals bound, see mick out for the year. then approach buckley and instate him in 2O1O. If we are not looking at finals bring in bucks with several rounds left so he can get used to things as coach.

Sign all key players on long contracts to ensure that they are at the club so GC cant take them.

assuming we dont make top 4. and our premiership window is around 2O11. possibly trade for a proven key back, or ruck or star. Our mids seem very good going forward, Pendlebury, Swan, Sidebottom, Beams if he stays and Thomas if he reaches his potential. I am expecting and hoping for pendles to be a top 5 mid in comp and swan really taking another step to stardom. Beams and sidey to improve allot and get better and who knows for dale. Mid is perfect.

Our small forwards are in good stead. Didak, Medhurst and Leon obviously are all class and are stars hopefully they are just as good in 2O11. Anthony and Cloke and maybe rusling will finish of a very nice forward line. Imagine Trav playing up the ground and JA and RUS leading out of square, with leon dids and med at there feet. Forward line is perfect.

With presti gone by this time, N Brown needs to become the man, and the other tall will be ben reid or another player[via trade] with harry O tyakingh key small. and shaw and m. clarke running it out of defence. Big Hole at 2nd big man, need someone like a tarrant/fev size for the quick strong blokes.

Ruck, Frazer will be a 2nd ruck and pinch hitting forward. Approach Cox or Macintosh and give them an offer they cant refuse.

My Ideal team

Coach - Buckley
Captyain - Pendlebury
Vice Captain - Swan
leadership group. Pendles, Swan, Maxwell, Harry O, Tarks, Fraser, Thomas

B - Maxwell, Brown, Harry O
HB - Shaw, ??[must fill] , Clarke
C - Thomas, Pendlebury, Lockyer
HF - Didak, Cloke, Davis
F - Medhurst, Anthony, ?+[Rusling if ever fit]
R - ??[Cox/Macintosh], Swan, Sidebottom
INT - Beams, Fraser, ??[draftee], ??[trade/ draftee]

I really like your idea about introducing regular cultural days . Since Bucks and Burnsy left we've been lacking the tenacity thats always been associated with the Pies . Sure ,we can produce the occasional back to the walls type of perfomances once or twice a year but this should happen EVERY game .
I also think that whoever our coach is going to be next year ( really hope its not MM) is going to make an emphasis on recruiting quality bigger bodied players that we severely lack at the moment .
