Managed to get out for 9 holes. First round since April, Felt good. Been flushing them at the range, then discovered again that form off the mat doesn't translate to the course 😀
Rediscovered what it means to have bad lies, sloped lies, dirt, divets, weeds and sand.

Was actually pretty happy with my score, pretty much bang in the middle of my average at this course, and only 2 strokes worse than the last time I played here in March.

Putting and short game was atrocious though, to be expected given I haven't practiced either in a long time, and these greens were wet and very bumpy, they must have been cored recently.

Trying to book a lesson soon to focus solely on the driver, because I left that in the bag so I was costing myself probably 20-40m off the tee, albeit a straighter than I would be with driver.

Highlight of the day, 9th hole chip from a metre off the green rolled into the hole, lowlight was stone cold topping my tee shot off a 100m par 3 straight into the pond in front of me, and 4 putting twice.

A hit of golf today. The greens have come up a treat after a disappointing opening from lockdown. Dewy morning meant slow pace, but as it evaporated the ever familiar brilliant roll was back. Focussed on correcting a part of my swing and it seemed to work well. 19 points from 9 testament to that. Stopped after more holes due to oncoming precipitation

Played 9 after work today. +3 after 7, choked to finish +5, 40 total.

Doubled the 8th, then lipped out a birdie putt on 9.
Tied my record. :( should have beat it.

I've been working on changing my driver swing too, I've found teeing the ball up higher and thinking about hitting up on the ball seems to be taking a heap of side spin off it and turning my 20-40m misses into 5-15m misses. Hopefully that holds

Everyday the same golfers on the comp leaderboards at my club. Golfers younger than me, in their 20’s and 30’s. How are there so many people out there than can afford to play 18 holes every day?

Youre at a private club yes? What are the annual subs and joining fee?

Such a simple thing putting a little bit more weight on my back toes seems to have fixed my driving which i have been struggling with since lockdown ended. Mostly got rid of the slice and put an extra 20 metres on the drive.

Back down in the low 80's for the first time in about 6 months.
