Who is it, what kind of job are they doing, and are they likely to get your vote?

my local member is ALEXANDER DOWNER!!!!!! lol. he is doing an alright job as opposed to the last election, when he was never here.....i will probably end up voting for him. yeah

Im in Brand to iceman, where abouts are you? Kim will win, but with a much reduced margin, probably about 6%.

Well we are definetly getting a new local member here, as the NT, has been split up into 2 seats. My seat name is Solomon, so i'll guess we'll see who is our new member. The liberal candidate is a convicted drink driver, but i'd vote for him ;)

My local member in my electorate (Murray, Vic) is Sharman Stone, she is in the safest Liberal seat in the country , but all that aside, she hasn't been doing a bad job for our electorate, and she is at least approachable, but as for voting for her, I wouldn't because I hate what her party stands for, and anyway Sahrman Stone will win in a canter, the vote that really has some power for those who don't support the libs, the Senate, i'm leaning towards Labor and the Democrats.

Another fellow Brand member :D
I live in Port Kennedy :) - we should catch up!!

Did you watch Today Tonight the other day Iceman. Where they were whingeing about the new school being built. Said it shouldn't be called Rockingham Lakes as they lived in Port Kennedy :) Yeh sure we could have a beer sometime, discuss polictics :)

After exams I will be in Victoria :) Not really sure when i'm coming back, probably three weeks before Uni starts again. So could be a bit difficult :)

I'm in the blue ribbon Liberal seat of Menzies and the sitting member is Kevin Andrews.

Kevin Andrews is the type of guy with views that makes John Howard seem like Phil Cleary or Bob Brown in comparison.

I would be much happier if the Liberals could find someone else to stand for this seat.

i'm in the electorate of Bennelong... the one that John Howard rules with an iron fist.. hahaha...
dont think he'd ever lose this seat....

I'm in Melbouirne, Lindsay tanner's the member, I've never seen him around the seat but that doesn't mean much. He gets my vote anyway.

The anti Euthanasia man!

Met him at a University College Conference in 1994 - typcial right wing Liberal - wears his jumper over his shoulders.

I currently live in the seat of Port Adelaide. The labor sitting member, Rod Sawford will win easily.

I however will either vote demorcrat with labor preference or do a spoiled vote because neither major party deserves my vote.

Definetley will vote Democrat in the Senate

Natasha with the balacne of power is our only hope.

(Natasha - you are our only hope - another Star Wars reference for you Dan25).

I dont even know what seat I am in..... ! I'm on the border of Menzies and Deakin.

Our house is like always either, Mitcham, Donvale or North Ringwood so I don't have a clue.

But my old seat was the one of Berowra, The one Philip Ruddock holds pretty strongly and some Richard Slater dude is running against him. He has no chance against for this seat Slater.

Mags

I'm in Isaacs. Our member is Ann Corcoran who was voted in during a by-election last year. This election was so low interest, I don't even think that they published the result in the paper.

We had the by-election because the previous member - Greg Wilton (?) - committed suicide.

I've always found this amusing. The federal seat of Isaacs is a safe Labor seat while the equivalent seat at State level (Bruce?) is a safe Liberal one. Go figure!

Sad thing is that we never see our sitting members, unlike the Liberal candidate who I must have seen 3 - 4 times now over the past year actually introducing himself to people at Carrum station of a morning. My guess is that he frequently does the rounds of all stations in his electorate.

I so hope he gets up - stick it right up Labor for taking us for granted!

The Member for Canberra is Annette Ellis. She has been fairly quiet the last year or so, but generally she seems to be doing a fairly decent job. At least she isn't in the headlines like our previous member, Ros Kelly.

I'm in the seat of Curtin, a very blue ribbon Liberal seat. The current member is Julie Bishop who's been on the news quite a bit lately over the boat people issue. I think she's done a good job, although in newspapers and pamphlets she sends out, she looks very fake and artificial.

The ALP, One Nation, Nations, Christian Party, Demos haven't even bothered sending out flyers to people in our electorate this year because they know they would just be wasting money, which could go to seats that are still in the balance.

I know Lindsay Tanner and my Dad is a friend of his.
In my area its Martine Ferguson who my family also knows and he will **** it in

Seat of Tangney - currently being sat in by Daryl Williams.

Goeagles - did you think Julie Bishop looked like a bit incompetent regarding the boat people issue. I certainly did.

RacerX - most certainly! I'm glad she spoke her mind, but at the end of the day she had to withdraw her comments or rephrase them back to the Liberals policy, so she sounded like a sheep at the end of the day.

What put me off was that she would only give out a written statement afterwards and dodged the press like a scene from A Current Affair. I believe this wasn't the first time she has wussed out on a controversial interview.

Anyway, I still reckon she will romp it in just like my good mate Daryl Williams
