Zach Beeck

Has anyone seen much of Zach Beeck ?

I know he's been injured this year, however he's off the injury list now.

After he rucked in the the game vs Port Adelaide last year, I haven't seen or heard anything about him. Maybe I was distracted by the fact we kicked 20 behinds that day, but I don't remember him being bad.

Could he be another tall option ?

I don't believe he is an option, not at this point in time, no. He is really our 4th ruckman and thats about it. There was talk about moving him to CHB last season but I don't think that experiment ever eventuated.

I think Yak supports a different team referred to as the Kangaroos, a fair distance from Arden St.

Zach Beeck will not make the grade and the Eagles have had him on their books for a fair while. When fit, he is not standing out for the North Perth Royals. Will be delisted at the end of the season.

The reason I said that was that I was talking to one of the North Perth Royals directors at an Auskick training session and he said the vibes were that Beeck's opportunity to impress the selection panel had passed by. The injuries had been a big hinderance, but when he was fit, he could not string many good games together.

The selection panel may have diverted their eyes in the direction of someone like Embley Junior for their future needs.

Time will tell.

It's not as if we drafted him in the national draft and overlooked a young gun KPP and took Zac instead. Some rookie picks pay off while others don't and it seems Beeck might fall into the latter.

No it's not. Clubs don't rely on the rookie draft to produce top quality players. It's seen as a bonus if they pick up a player that turns into a good player a few years down the track. A stuff up is when a club makes a mistake in choosing one player over another and the cost or what they've missed out on is greater that what they have received. That's not the case in this instance. Either you don't know how the clubs view the rookie draft and their selections, or you've used a poor choice of words.
