I never said anything Cal related was irrelevant. You did, after you bought him up.Mmm yes to give an example of someone who rated Nairn and Schubert as first round picks. An example you asked for. Or do you now think that is irrelevant?
Yes I bought him up. Apparently this is still worthy of discussion?I never said anything Cal related was irrelevant. You did, after you bought him up.![]()
I never said there was an enormous gulf. But I'm glad you remembered what we were talking about.Yes I bought him up. Apparently this is still worthy of discussion?
Just to remind you, this was all to dispute your characterisation of Hawthorn’s deal as “peanuts”. You’ve now explained the enormous gulf that apparently exists between “not nothing” and “peanuts”, so I really think we might be done.

The enormous gulf reference was rather mocking of me, wasn’t it? Let me explain more clearly that when you call an offer “peanuts”, you are are referring to something which is cheap enough as to be worthless, i.e. “nothing”. There is no difference.I never said there was an enormous gulf. But I'm glad you remembered what we were talking about.![]()

Or maybe you’ll dispute this? Perhaps “peanuts”, or “a bag of chips” is a common way to say trade offers are much better than nothing?
When Zach said Hawthorn’s offer was “3 first rounders, so it’s not like they were offering nothing”, the reader is to imply that he thought the offer was considerable.
Is this one of those "I know what Zach meant, just trust me bro things?"
Or can you actually provide a direct quote where he said it?
We moved it to the wash up ages ago, if you don’t want to read it maybe unsubscribeThis thread is still going.... can one of the mods lock it up
