How much longer can Priddis be debated?

So what's the alternative buddy? Shut our pie holes and cop it like a good little boy? Shall we embrace mediocrity?

Ploddus deserves "bagging the s**t out of" and more.

Absolutely disgraceful that our club chooses to bury their heads in the sand and embraces the horses arse of an abomination he dishes up week in week out.

He is a ******* disgrace to our jumper.

LOL whenever i read your comments I always picture the Scott brother in your avatar talking like he's complaining about umpires :

Depends on what they say.

Might agree with one

Might agree with another ...context

Might agree with neither

Might agree with partially both of what they say .....

It's too simple to answer like that ....I sit with with people that sometimes do bad things to others and or themselves and I have to remain neutral a lot so I have a very neutral way if thinking if you like

But what I do is see the good in most things ...glass half full as a opposed to half empty

Sorry that's such a long answer to your question.

But they are experts!!

I think I said this on about page 101, one of the protagonists has to stop arguing. ;)

I think this should be taken to that thread, but if anyone can produce the KPIs for his role then I will be happy to to pick apart the ones he is not hitting. Apologies mods, I will now refrain from any more replies regarding this matter.

I'd argue him hitting his KPI's have proven somewhat irrelevant to our teams win/ loss ratio. I'd also argue those players are better utilized in different roles.

+1

KPI's indicate his success in said role, not whether they assist in achieving victory, which I don't believe said role will ever do.

So who will be our one true saviour? The one player who will bring ultimate victory forsaking 21 other team mates? I heard Jesus was set to go at pick 2, and Allah at 3. Reckon Buddha will be available by 10?

You've pretty much provided an example of what I was referring to in my previous post.

You don't have to accept or embrace mediocrity or 'shut your pie hole' for that matter. Opinions can be voiced, concerns can be raised, issues can be discussed without resorting trashing a player of our club over and over again with stupid comments like "He is a ******ing disgrace to our jumper".

You believe Priddis is a ****ing disgrace to the jumper and hey I guess thats fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinions. So I guess you're saying that a player with (obvious) limitations but (and you can refer to my last post for my 'arguement') is still a good footballer (but just not an elite player or superstar) and who gives 100% for his club and his team mates is a ****ing disgrace.

I think supporters with that kind of attitude who choose to repeatedly sprout that s**t and lay the boot into our own player at every opportunity in multiple threads and multiple boards are a ****ing disgrace, but thats just my opinion.

^^^^ its probably over emotive language - but i really believe he belongs at ep - not at wce

He has been a good servant of the club after judd and cousins - the club itself has ****ed up royally by not planning for his replacement.

Even this year we should have been phasing him out - although the injuries in the midfield have made that harder - but if yeo and scooter back in the team dont spell the end i will go nuts.

Trouble is - as you are phasing him out you cant use him anywhere else - havnt seen him work well on a hff - doesnt have that skill like embley did where you could play him round the ground

Ive heard suggestions we play him as the sub but to me subs should always be pacy - so they can burn exhausted players and break lines

Agree with most of this post.. pretty sensible post from such a strong anti-Priddiser. ;)

I'd also like to see Shuey, Yeo, Gaff and Selwood as our primary mids and take on even more responsibility, even Wellingham if he can grow up and pull his finger out. Agree that Priddis won't work as a sub, we need a burst/impact player as a sub. He's no spring chicken and I'd be happy to see him phased out but I still think he has a place/role in the team. Versatility is one of his flaws.. in regards to phasing him out maybe play him as a clearance specialist that pushes forward (and stays forward for periods of time).

Sometimes its hard to stay sensible when you are faced with an uphill battle against an entrenched mentality

Months and months of

Anti: priddis was terrible tonight against xxxxx

Pro : bullshit he was fantastic 33 possessions - afl.com rated him our best - he got top aflca votes and the west listed him as our best

Anti: he didnt do anything with the ball no hurt - terrible disposal blah blah blah

Pro: you must have been watching a different game - the experts agree blah blah blah

Months later

Anti: heres a video of that game against xxxxx - hes averaging 2 decent disposals a quarter and 6 that do nothing or are clangers - he wasnt involved in any scoring chains.

Pro: you just cherry pick his worst games boohoo

Anti: ummm
Pro : bullshit he was fantastic 33 possessions - afl.com rated him our best - he got top aflca votes and the west listed him as our best

Pro: meh, hurry up and get to the best games against adelaide and collingwood

Anti: hang on - you quoted afl.com etc earlier in the year when we were arguing over whether he played a good game - and now we have the footage you say we are just picking on his bad games

Pro: just play the collingwood game and the adelaide game already

Anti: ffs first look at that footage - hes terrible

Pro: not according to aflca and the media

Anti : aaaaaaaarrrrrggghhhh hes a sh*tstain goddamnit * s**t campaigner * bwoaoaoaooaaoaoaoaoaheheeefrhrhrnrhfn

Pro: shut up - he excelled against two teams that finished below us on the ladder - play those games already

Like I've already said, the videos (well the couple I've watched) have cringe worthy moments. No doubting that.

However I reckon if you did it for comparative players across the competition you could/would/should find similiar results. Statistically (and yes stats can be flawed at times) he compares very well in the key stats for inside mids against guys like Kennedy, Mitchell, Wines et al (was talked about some pages back). I've seen Kennedy and Mitchell make Priddis look like Akermanis with some of their disposals.

Also like I've said I think using experts or AFLCA can be misleading, however if you're using a lot of sources (peers, opposition, coaches, umpires, media, statistics) and they all rate Priddis then he must have something going for him.

We've been spoilt with Judd, Cousins and Kerr in recent times and Matera, Kemp, etc in years gone by and Priddis doesn't come close to them, but that doesn't make him a useless hack that shouldn't get a game either.

I'm not particularly a Priddis fan but I think this post is over the top.
I know it is an emotive issue but there are limits.

Im not sold on him going forward - i can see us getting trashed on the rebound and he hasnt got a lot of goalsense

They would just plonk a fast defender on him then that defender would go and keep going all the way to goal leaving them a man up the whole way

s**t they woudnt even need to put someone fast on him - if he were playing us id put butler on him - butler would burn him for pace and knows how to go through the middle.

Still thats my opinion and ive never seen it done - perhaps thats also part of the problem - we dont ever try s**t a bit out of left field with him. If we found somewhere else to put him on the ground then he becomes part of the rotation not fixed and inflexible.

He was up forward zoning against North when they had the ball and Greenwood and Atley cut through his zone on a couple of occasions that started I50 runs in the first quarter.
