Roast Action to let the club know how p***ed off we are

I would also add that the 2018 team drank their own bathwater a lot. Every guest on the WCE Backchat 1.0 in 2019 with Schoey was about the 2018 flag and They released that Friends Family Flags doco in 2020 when they're all still playing. Huge part of where we're at.

Most definitely, but largely the results still came during those years. 2019 we rolled the Pies again at the G inside the first 3 rounds. Eventually lost to Geelong in Melbourne to end our season in some trying circumstances - wouldn't be the first team that's happened to.

Got off to a garbage start to 2020 in the hub but built form in Perth, did okay in hub #2 from memory and finished 5th. We didn't have our ruthless finishing but we were thereabouts.

Does not winning in 18 give the players that last 5% to win a couple more of those games, get the top 2/4 finishes and win a flag? Possibly, but either way we still end up with one. Glad it happened when it did for guys like Lecca. He hung them up at the perfect opportunity.

Agree 100% and if we are talking about perfect timing hanging up the boots look no further than JK.😁

People need to be a little careful directing their derision towards the team (as much as some may deserve it). We are wanting to attract players and retain our young players. A feral fanbase won’t help.

Derision directed at management however…

Yeah I’m glad we haven’t had scenes of fans abusing the players like we saw at Carlton a couple of weeks ago.

For the most part they’re trying their best.

haha whos going to take them!
Take them? Emai will be

Can’t help but feel a lot of off field stuff took place during 2020 that destroyed the team culture.

The failure to perform in the covid hub foreshadowing what has taken place over the last two years.

Players like Schofield and Jetta falling out of favour quickly.

The Rioli stuff.

What on earth happened

Spitballing, but I think the Kelly trade kicked a lot of this off.

Coming in on a fortune in cash and picks to a team that had won a flag without him contributed to a culture of the individual and put a few noses out of joint.

A bit of resentment built up and made us overpay our veterans and likely underpay or undervalue role players like Schofield and Jetta.

Not Kelly's fault of course, but I think it contributed to the selfish club we have become.

Yeah please don’t raise your voice.. it’s just another set of footsteps the delicate petals will have to put up with…

So therefore instead of looking at the bigger picture which could have added another premiership ,the senior players chose to be selfish and put themselves before the team ..
Which we have been seeing with money grabs due to credits in the bank before performance and refusing to put the team first when injury or age has made them a liability ..

In that case that's on the selfishness of the other players. Before Tom Lynch went to Richmond, Alex Rance was on On the Couch talking about upsetting the Apple Cart. They won the next two. If you're not happy with what you're being paid, go explore your options and get out.

Look, I get it and also want our club to wake up but , jeez, some of the responses on here are disturbing.
Mate.

We are currently worst team in the history of the afl/vfl.

4 x 100 point floggings and hawthorn one of the teams to flog us.
We are performing worse than fitzroy in their last year

We have won 3 games out of the last 50 odd.

Our average losing margin is pushing 50 poi ts for the last 2 years.

Weve had injury and personnel crisis for 2+ years

Weve had recruiting and trade disasters such as the kelly s**t show selling the farm for him.

We have ceos and staff not giving any direction whatsoever except she will be right stick with us

We have had players come back from injury too early and reinjure themselves en masse to to try and get wins to make it look like things are ok.

We have had players like gaff, mcgovern and natanui get long term contracts after 30 years old when they dont deserve them. Nicnat albeit injury prone shouldve been on 1 year contracts but gaffe is just a shadow of himself.

Mcgovern..seriously the money he is on and hes only played a few games and the games he has played he is a liability.

Our mid tier players like petrucelli and oneill and SPS just arent up to shouldering the load which is a blight on our recruiting and/or development and also a result of the kelly trade.

The coach given a long term contract nobody knew about and now holds the club to ransom with soft cap issues.

50 percent of the salary cap goes to 6 players

The club is in such a state of disaster that most clubs only experience 1 of these issues at a time and we are having it all at once.

Senior players dont seem to give a * on field and when promised that our performances would improve with senior players back we have our worst loss in history with our best midfield for 3 years.

Its a monumental * up since the 2018 flag and you think there is overreaction?

if anything the fan base in here and out of here has been pretty tolerant man.

look at carlton, they are calling for voss to be sacked and people are screaming at players to take their jumpers off they dont deserve to wear them.

And you think people are over reacting?

Lol

Good job on typing all that out . I get it but getting angry about it ain't gonna fix it and it is detrimental to health and well being of the mind of the person who is venting.

Telling people to calm down generally is a shithouse way to get people to calm down.

Wasn't there Instagram videos getting posted during the down time when players were put in small groups to train and it was just Jetta dancing and shuffling and having a fat time while other guys were actually training?

He probably rocked up in sloppy nick and a few of the boys treated the whole thing like a holiday in that hub, Hammer Brayshaw talks about the buffets and stuff.

We were the first to pack up and leave with no return date at the dawn of a pandemic. World was ending, players left wives, children behind to help the league and were no doubt jaded about the sacrifice having been living in a Covid free State and also carrying the league with travel already in the regular H&A seasons. Whatever internal dialogue the club was pushing did not hit the mark and players lost focus.

Duff mentioned 2020 yesterday as part of his post 2018 wrap on the culmination of issues we've faced but said at some point the Tigers woke up and realised there was still a flag on the line and went after it, even with their off field issues that year. We couldn't regain our focus and the playing group living in such close quarters appeared to create fractures and cliques that took a hit to the overall culture.
I suspect it’s much more significant than just a couple of players not taking training seriously. That happens at every club every year and doesn’t create the sort of grave issues that the club now faces.

I mean, it has to be deep within the entire club. Something happened between 2018 and now that has killed the entire club.

AFL, AFLW and WAFL clubs are all complete basket cases. Players are getting injured at rates never seen before. Worst song in the league. The subway at my work closed down.
