Jeez anyone else reckon Carlton are bloody weird drafters?

Boekhorst at 19, Clem Smith, Brad Walsh. Reaching that far for Cripps last year. They're another team that like flankers rather than midfielders, take smalls when they should take talls and vice versa. Their selections are always extremely left field and whilst this can be a good thing, it hasn't worked for them at all.

Rainbow IMO redeems their draft a little bit.

EDIT: And reaching for Bootsma at 22 when he was rated 40+

EFA.

I have the feeling he's going to be another Bust for Melbourne.

Luckily they got the bonus pick 3 from the AFL and took the better player in Brayshaw.

Brayshaw is the best player in the draft.

Petracca endurance will take several years to fix. He will still be a good half forward if he doesn't
make it as a mid.

Former Brisbane Lions and Carlton forward Brendan Fevola could be set to take part in a new hybrid footy tournament

A PUSH is on to create a new hybrid footy tournament featuring recently retired stars to potentially rival cricket’s big bash.
Organisers have so far approached television networks with little success, but remain hopeful they can get the concept off the ground by 2016.
Nick Maxwell, Nathan Brown, Matthew Richardson and Brendan Fevola are among the former stars believed to have been approached.
Other players in the sights of organisers include Jonathan Brown, Wayne Carey, Alan Didak, Darren Glass and Peter Everitt.
It’s understood several parties have signed confidentiality agreements with a group of businessmen behind the plans.
Adelaide Oval deal review dragging on
Free-to-air broadcasters have been reluctant to get involved because of upcoming television rights negotiations with the AFL, meaning the consortium may need to pin its hopes on a pay-TV channel.
More discussions are set to take place in the coming weeks.
The exact format of the tournament remains up in the air, but AFL.com.au understands the latest proposal is for a single weekend tournament, in the vein of the successful rugby sevens format.
It is being sold a fast, tv-friendly game, featuring privately owned teams filled with star players and large salary caps.
The number of teams is yet to be finalised.
Organisers are also keen to include female athletes within the format.
Trials took place at Melbourne's AAMI Park in June, and organisers believe the concept will be a hit with fans.
It is likely games would be played over two halves, with teams of ten players on the ground with two on an interchange bench.
It is understood the AFL has not yet been consulted about the competition.

I believe Carlton will slide big time next season.

Looking at their list they have no goalkickers with Menzel the only player on their list that averages over a goal a game (1.08 Goals per game)

Also move than half their list has played 30 games or less.

They sold off, delisted a lot of experience this year for various reasons.

But according to the Carlton board they said they were going to be top 2? Well that was their worst case scenario anyway :p
