Yeah I agree, and I know what your saying, but there seems to be a fair amount people hoping/wishing he fails. And some are North peeps!!

Most players have deficiencies, hell you've only got to log on during match day and if we're losing you get them all listed.lol
I'm quite accustomed to watching a key forward with obvious deficiencies too, but I genuinely hope Majak can close the gap between his best and worst and make it.

If NicNat produced a one game highlight reel like that he'd be in the news daily for the next week. That's Maj's next challenge, replicating it up a level.

I agree but there's only one way to produce that at the next level and that's with continual games.

As I said earlier Petrie ( season) and Black's efforts Saturday night haven't set the bar extremely high. Suppose I'm a little frustrated ATM :)

- Kayne Turner (12 disposals, 1 goal)

NMFC.com.au's best: Scott McMahon, Will Fordham

Match-ups
- McMahon v Samuel Dunell

Story of the game
After Williamstown broke out to an early lead, Werribee fought back to regain ascendency during the second and third quarters.

While the margin never blew out, the Tigers held sway for most of the day, until a late surge from the opposition made for some nervous moments.

"We had a buffer of two or three goals all the way, then all of a sudden in the last few minutes it got down to goal for goal," Senior Development Coach Gavin Brown said.

"For about three minutes it was just a battle. The boys kept playing percentage footy and it was just a gutsy win."

Despite conceding six last quarter goals, Werribee was able to hold for its first win against Williamstown in the teams' last 12 outings.

"It was a long quarter that went for 33 minutes because of all the goals that been kicked," Brown said.

"It was a really fantastic win."

Points of interest:
1. North rookie Will Fordham was an impressive performer against strong opposition.

"He played on a wing all day and ended up with 25 possessions, which was the second-highest on the ground," Brown said.

"His run and carry and double-up possessions were exceptional. He was terrific, Will.

"He used the ball for the majority of the day really well.

"He would be really pleased with that. His ability to run and carry and spread was fantastic today."

2. Scott McMahon’s game was described as ‘his best of the year’ by Brown.

"He started on and played for a fair bit on Dunell and he snuffed him out. He did a terrific job defensively.

"He had 17 possessions himself and he had a really solid game.

"He used the ball really effectively, linked up well and defended exceptionally well. He was really good. He was our best player along with Will Fordham."

3. After missing last week as the Roos’ travelling emergency, Kayne Turner made a positive return.

"He did a lot of defensive stuff today that would have gone unnoticed. His defensive pressure was outstanding,” Brown said.

"It wasn’t a standout game, but we know the way Kayne plays; he plays his role really well and works really hard defensively and he did that again today.”

4. Majak Daw booted a vital goal when the game was in the balance, and finished with three for the day, playing mostly in the forward half.

"Maj started a little bit slowly but then got going in the second quarter particularly," Brown said.

"He had a real impact when he had the footy and when he launched at the ball some really nice marks. He was quite solid."

5. Daniel Currie was again singled out by Brown for his effort in the contested situation.

"He was good again. He started like a house on fire.

"He took seven marks and a couple of really good pack ones … he’s doing that really well.

"He went forward and kicked a really nice goal in the last quarter when we really needed him.”

6. American rookie Eric Wallace continues to improve his output in the development league.

"He played ruck and went forward, took a really nice mark and kicked a nice set shot goal," Brown said.

"He dominated the ruck and his follow-up was really good with some really nice tackles.

"He’s getting better every week."

Most likely call-up: Kayne Turner

Roosters Report Card: Round 5

Conditions: … it’s Etihad Stadium

In action
- Aaron Black (10 disposals, 2 goals)
- Trent Dumont (22 disposals, 5 clearances, 7 inside 50’s, 5 tackles)
- Sam Durdin (7 disposals, 5 spoils, held Liam Jones to 1 goal)
- Aaron Mullett (18 disposals, 5 inside 50’s)

- Joel Tippett (14 disposals, 7 marks, 4 spoils)
- Max Warren (16 disposals, 100% kicking efficiency, 4 one-percenters)

NMFC.com.au's best: Trent Dumont

Match-ups
- Aaron Black v Tom Fields
- Sam Durdin v Liam Jones
- Joel Tippett v Matthew Kreuzer/Robbie Warnock

Story of the game
Playing a rare game at Etihad Stadium as the curtain-raiser to the clash between Carlton and the Giants, North Ballarat was looking to continue its 100 per perfect record at the venue.

The Roosters won all three grand finals they played at Etihad between 2009-2011, and after an even first quarter they kicked away from the home side.

Up by nearly six goals late in the third quarter, North Ballarat was able to cruise the rest of the way home, only occasionally challenged on the way to a comfortable 22-point victory.

It was a much needed four points for the Roosters, as they headed into the game on a three-game losing streak.

RELATED: Mullett finds touch

Points of interest
1. After a slow start in the first quarter, Trent Dumont worked his way into the game to be one of the Roosters’ best by the time the final siren sounded.

He had an equal game-high 22 disposals with a mix of inside (11 contested) and outside (11 uncontested) and used the ball well with seven inside 50’s.

“22 in shortened quarters wasn’t a bad return,” Development Manager Ben Dyer said.

“He was a bit outside early and getting away from what he’s good at. But after quarter-time, and especially in the second half he just willed himself on the contest and extracted the ball.

“When he was forward for brief moments he just offered something different. He knows where to run and he’s smart enough to get involved.

“Once he got involved overall I thought he was quite influential.”

2. Sam Durdin spent the afternoon on AFL-listed Liam Jones and performed extremely well, holding his opponent to one goal and minimal influence.

Considering the late change in his preparation, Durdin’s performance was impressed.

“He would have played on Matt Watson but he was called up (to Carlton) late,” Dyer explained.

“To Durds’ credit, he did his homework, watched the vision of Jones and worked out how to play against him.

"He (Durdin) was able to play the game on his terms, rather than being reactive.

“He’s got a good read on the game and to identify where the forward wants to go and stop that is a big thing.

3. Max Warren was a rock in the Roosters’ defensive half, winning the majority of his one-on-one contests while going at 100 per cent efficiency with his 13 kicks.

“He was super today. He saved a couple of deep balls and then he used it exceptionally going the other way," Dyer said.

“In transition he was finding teammates and they didn’t have to break stride. When there’s overlap going, to kick well is crucial and he was able to do that.”

4. With Jarrad Waite reported and Ben Brown leaving the field injured in Friday night’s victory over Essendon, Aaron Black had an opportunity to put his name forward to make the trip to Perth next weekend.

He finished with 10 disposals and two goals in a well-rounded game.

“We had him higher (up the field) early to try and get him involved and I thought he brought some real energy into his game, which was probably just a little lacking last week," Dyer said.

“His intent was there and he tackled well. He wouldn’t be 100 per cent happy with it at the moment but I don’t think it’s too far away from turning for him."

Most likely call-up: Trent Dumont

Good for Maxy Warren to get a bit of a rap, according to some around here he cannot play, a smallish backman who can win one on ones, and use the pill, there is hope for him yet
Less that, more "why is he on the list still when he's so far back (rookie pick and all) that Goldstein can no longer whack him with his dick?"

Werribee Report Card: Rd 6

Match result:
Werribee 22.18.150 defeated Frankston 10.13.73
Venue: Avalon Airport Oval
Conditions: Perfect day for football

In action:
- Daniel Currie (19 disposals, 11 marks, 5 goals, 35 hit-outs)
- Majak Daw (19 disposals, 8 marks, 3 goals, 22 hit-outs)
- Will Fordham (29 disposals, 10 marks)
- Scott McMahon (14 disposals)
- Kayne Turner (12 disposals, 2 goals)
- Eric Wallace (development league, stats available in the coming days)

NMFC.com.au’s best:
Daniel Currie

Story of the game
Werribee came into Sunday’s clash against Frankston with a four game winning streak, and right from the outset the home side went towards making it five.

A six-goal first quarter was followed by a further seven in the second saw the Tigers go into the long break with a 51-point lead.

From there the result was academic. Werribee gathered some handy percentage points, kicking 22 goals in its 77-point victory. As an added bonus, it ended the weekend a full game clear on top of the VFL ladder.

Points of interest
1. Daniel Currie was the best of the North-listed players on the afternoon. After giving his midfielders first use of the ball while the game was on the line, he spent more time forward later in the game. He was rewarded with a five-goal haul, capping a monster game.

"He had a massive day and he’s really in a rich vein of form," Senior Development Coach Gavin Brown toldNMFC.com.au."His last month of footy has been exceptional and it was the same again today."

2. With the absence of Ben Brown on Saturday due to injury and Jarrad Waite hindered by a foot injury, Majak Daw picked an ideal time to turn in yet another quality outing.

"The conditions being perfect for footy really helped the footy we wanted to play, and Majak was really good," Brown said.

"He played a big part in the massive win and he was able to fit in really well."

3. It was far from the ideal preparation for Scott McMahon, catching the red-eye flight home from Perth, landing in the early hours of Sunday morning, before being required at Werribee in the afternoon.

However he didn’t let it affect him, turning in a typically solid performance.

"He was the Rock of Gibraltar in defence and solid again.

"It was the third week in a row ‘Loose’ has defended really well and it was impressive considering he caught the red eye back the previous night," Brown said.

4. A week after his best game for the year, Will Fordham backed it up with a further 29 disposals. His run and carry was a feature throughout the afternoon.

"He played on the wing all day and ran really, really hard," Brown said.

"We were able to capitalise on that and he took 10 marks as well. His offence was a real highlight and it was really positive."

Most likely call-up: Majak Daw

Max Warren

Match-ups:
Durdin v Redpath
Preuss v Campbell/Minson
Warren v Hrovat

Story of the game:
This clash won’t be one for the highlights reel and a match the Roosters will want to quickly forget.

North Ballarat was simply outclassed on the day, dominated by Footscray, who had the benefit of a large number of AFL-listed players.

Development Manager Ben Dyer said there were understandably few positives to take out of the encounter.

"The footy was just played at one end of the ground most of the time," Dyer said.

"When you don’t really get a good look at it, it can be hard. To their (the North-listed players) credit, they kept their heads up and did what they could do."

Points of interest:
1. With the ball spending the majority of the game in Footscray’s half, Aaron Black spent plenty of time out of position to try and find some touch.

"He started forward early and the ball just didn’t get down there in the first quarter, as you can imagine," Dyer said.

"We bought him up to the wing, and he even went back in the third quarter. He found it a little more when he went down there, but he didn’t get an opportunity to get a run at it and play the sort of footy we know he can play."

2. Aaron Mullett made it through his second full game at VFL level unscathed, as he looks to make a return from pre-season shoulder surgery.

Dyer said Mullett looked threatening at times and kept battling hard through wave after wave of Footscray attacks.

"When he got it, he was one of the few who looked like he could penetrate," Dyer said.

"Between him and Max (Warren) they looked like the only two who could break a line and get it over the press the Dogs employ."

3. Dogs' ruckman Will Minson faces a nervous week ahead, set to face the tribunal for making contact with an umpire in the second quarter.

Minson was also red carded, meaning he could take no further part in the game.

Most likely call-up: Aaron Mullett
Next week: Saturday May 30 v Port Melbourne, 2pm at North Port Oval

For me it's crying shame we as yet don't know whether these two are good enough......

In action:
- Daniel Currie (19 disposals, 11 marks, 5 goals, 35 hit-outs)
- Majak Daw (19 disposals, 8 marks, 3 goals, 22 hit-outs)

If Dan could get an opportunity and continued with his aggressive nature, s**t he'd make an ideal ruckman at AFL level.

what you've just mentioned is part of the reason why I was disappointed in the Waite acquisition. I was keen to get games into these two
