West Coast / Collingwood and the top 4

You won't find a sane Collingwood supporter that sees us as a realistic top 4 chance. If we make the finals (will be personally surprised if we do), it's a bonus. West Coast definitely could, the home ground advantage helps them in that regard but they've looked pretty sharp this year.

Most level-headed West Coast supporters know that we arent going to be sitting in the Top 4 at the end of the year, and in fact may be fighting half-a-dozen other teams for 7-8th spot.

I would say that we are an "improving" side - we can be good on our day, but the youth of the team and the gameplan that we havent mastered yet means that we'll be patchy. We'll win some games that we shouldnt, and we'll lose some we shouldnt as well.

Based on the improvement that we've seen this year we should hopefully be pushing the top 4-6 bracket next year (tap everything made of wood that we stop getting shat on by the injury gods).

Credit where credit is due. The Eagles are playing great footy and would have to bomb terribly not to make the 8 from a 6-2 start. All this in spite of the significant backline injuries they are carrying. Jack Darling is still to come back into the forward line and could also help out in the middle as the new age big bodied midfielder… Top four is a stretch but should definitely be back in September calculations this year.

Top 4? I want some of what you're smoking. We'll be lucky to get into the Top 8.

There is more of a chance that Sean Rusling will come back to AFL footy and solve our woes to be honest..
