And big ups Mrs Turbo, you're a bloody ripper. I had no idea all that time ago when you were teaching your technically challenged husband how to set stuff up for a pod that you'd be here. The place is better for it.

In Round 11 as the Season 34 approaches the business end, the Royals clashed with the Bombers in a crucial match of the round game. The Bombers silenced the crowd early with Justabattler on fire early. Kicking his first after iDon provided some forward pressure, then adding a second with a clever snap after the Bombers win it out of the middle from the clearance. Then the game turned as the Royals took over the game, the midfield providing plenty of opportunities for their dangerous forwards like grumbleguts and Sarahsmiles. A run of 6 consecutive goals gave Gold City a lead of 24 going into the first change.

Royals stretched the lead out to 32 points with CakeEater in form, but an iDon goal at the 18th minute mark sparked the Bombers inspired a comeback. Goals to kickthething and The Greatest Ava brought the margin down to 13, but The Filth Wizard put it back out to 19 with a late goal before half time.

After half time, Baghdad came out a different team, booting 5 goals to 1 in the quarter as Sun Ra and The Greatest Ava got on top on the inside while also hitting the scoreboard. The Bombers took a margin of 7 into 3QT as the Royals had seemingly stopped.

NTRabbit got the important first goal of the fourth quarter to make it a one-point game. But iDon booted through goal number 4 after the Bombers burst away through the center clearance via HaroLad and Bovo to immediately respond. Bombers won another center clearance and missed a couple opportunities before a burningdwarf intercept set up HaroLad to goal and extend the lead to 15. After that, the Bombers ran away to be 26 point winners completing a great comeback win.

A rainy day at VC Park in Round 11 set up a hard fought contest between the Coney Island Warriors and the East Side Phoenix.

The match began with an arm-wrestle as the sides traded goals. SBYM opening the Warriors' account, before two goals to Itsmyshow gave the East Side the advantage. His opposite number Dinsdale up the other end would respond with two goals of his own and when Tonga Bob converted to make it three in a row for the Warriors it looked like they would take the upper hand. However, consecutive goals to akkaps snatched back a one-point lead for the Phoenix at quarter time.

Spudmaster goaled early in the second to give the Warriors back the lead. Goals were hard to come by in the slippery conditions and it wouldn't be until the 14-minute mark before Dinsdale's third goal put Coney Island up by 11. From there, the Phoenix would turn momentum around, kicking 3 goals to take the lead after an inspiring burst from Itsmyshow. Reginald Perrin kicked a steadier just prior to half time to get the margin back to 3.

The Warriors controlled the game early in the second half but were wasteful. Missed chances from toxic, and two to Dinsdale meant they drew level. Eventually, Footyguy13 would take the chance to put the Warriors in the lead but it would soon be offset by Drunkgoliath's reply. As the speed went out of the game, the Warriors would wrestle their way to a 12-point lead before a goal to The Blue Weirdo brought it back within a kick at the final change.

The teams traded goals early in the final quarter but it would be the Warriors who would finally outlast the Phoenix. Goals to Dinsdale and SBYM put them up a decisive lead of 20, a 5th goal by Itsmyshow gave the Phoenix some hope but that was taken away by a forward half turnover caused by Piggy Smalls that allowed the Warriors to answer and run away to win by 5 goals.

Round 11 saw the Swamprats take on the Wonders in critical clash that will shape the top 8 as both teams were vying for that remaining finals spot.

Both teams were fired up early with the ball going from end to end. Okeydoke7 was confident and kicked 2 goals in the first quarter. The Swamprats had the better of general play but opportunistic goals to Soggy2112, Wojcinski and dogs105 meant that the Wonders were well in the game.

In the opening part of the second quarter, both teams found it hard to score as defense tightened up. The Swamprats would find the breakthrough via a GremioPower torpedo and a goal to sataris quickly followed. It looked like the Rats would get away until an inspirational two-bounce goal by Cubs2Lions breathed life back into the Wonders. Momentum would swing but both teams would be inaccurate, the only goal for the rest of the quarter to okeydoke7 as the Rats took a 17-point buffer to half time.

The Swamprats burst out of the blocks in the second half, getting the first two goals and extending the margin out to 30. However, from there the Wonders would kick it up a notch dominating on the back of Cubs2Lions who was absolutely everywhere. They'd kick the next 3 goals before okeydoke7 pounced on defensive error to get the Swamprats back a 16-point lead.

The final quarter saw the Wonders on the charge and the Rats looking tired. Goals to dogs105 and SM quickly brought the margin back within a kick. Another steadying goal by okeydoke7 was crucial against the run of play. ant555 had two chances to extend the Rats lead but missed and the Wonders would complete the comeback with a great contested mark and goal by Brenton Davy. Rats would win it out of the center to set up okeydoke7's 6th goal but SM would immediately answer drawing the score level again. With the Wonders threatening to rebound, a dubious free kick was paid to Kennedy Parker who drilled a 55m laser kick to get the Swamprats the lead late in the game and ultimately win the crucial contest.

In Round 11 at BJO, the Roys faced off against the Ophidian Old Boys team hoping to climb into the top 4. The ground was muddy and tough slog was sure to ensue.

The first quarter was a dour affair with only 1 score, a goal to Zevon being kicked at the 12 minute mark. The Roys opened the scoring in the second quarter with a quick goal to Tigs2010, but Over The Post would manage to answer for the Old Boys. Elmer_Judd then laid a beautiful bump and snapped a goal from the impossible angle to spark a 3-goal run from the Roys in quick succession that would set up a half time lead of 24. The Old Boys only with 8 points on the board.

Allikat immediately sharked a tap and burst away from the center bounce to put the Roys up by 30. The Old Boys needed to do something quick and managed to turn a bit of the momentum around but were incapable of kicking it through the goals. Elton Johns Wig, Heisenberg_ and Wickzi all scored behinds and at the end of the quarter and when Elmer_Judd found himself free in the forward line to goal twice the Roys had a 39-point lead and the contest was truly over.

In the final quarter the Roys toyed with the hapless expansion team as Zevon waltzed into an open goal in the opening minutes before Mike took a hanger over The CryptKeeper and booted another goal. Zevon got his third goal to blow the Roys lead out to 57 points. A few junktime goals to the Old Boys spared further embarrassment but it was a convincing 36-point win to the reigning premiers.

In Round 11, the Mount Buller Demons met the Las Vegas Bears at the Snow Dome with the Dees hoping to rectify a faulty second half to the season while the Bears need to win to be any hope of playing in finals.

Cap threatened to take over the game early with four scoring shots of which he converted two. The Demons were caught napping as the Bears unleashed a withering surge to kick 5.4 to the Demons' 0.1 in the first 20 minutes of the game. The Demons would claw their way back with three consecutive goals of their own through HawkPatrol, Bluelegs and CrimsonViolet/Greenery. But a late goal to Electronic_Renaissance restored the margin to 21 points.

It was more of the same in the second quarter, the Bears booted 4 unanswered goals to extend the margin out to 47 points. The home fans were shell shocked as the visitors went into the rooms with a 41-point half time lead.

The third quarter was shootout with the Demons finally coming out to play but as the teams exchanged goals the Bears still outscored them 7 goals to 6. Hate tried to lead with 2 goals in this quarter but the form of I Dont Care, HawkPatrol and Muddiemoose was simply overwhelming.

The last quarter the game was over as a contest, HawkPatrol and kane249 kicked the first two goals of the last to extend the lead out as high as 62 before the Demons kicked a few to restore some semblance of respectability on the scoreboard. The Bears with a convincing 46-point victory.

Round 11 at Ljp86's Lair on a cloudy day, it was a clash between two struggling sides as the Dragons met the Furies.

The first quarter indicated a good old-fashioned shootout as the Dragons got two goals on the board early in the game before the Furies would kick 4 of the next 5 to go into quarter time with a buffer of 9. The Furies had the better of general play and had more time in their forward half but a bit wasteful in front of goal.

The opening part of the second term was a tight affair, nobody could convert and take the advantage until Hatchy1992 scored to bring the game level at the 6-minute mark of the second quarter. From then, the Furies took control starting with a goal to Chronz followed by tugga, James Colorado and Scythe94 getting on the board to go on a 6-goal to 1 run to set up a 27-point half time lead. Hatchy1992 crucially booted a goal on the siren for the Dragons.

The third quarter started with Hatchy1992 scoring another goal within 3 minutes, but the Furies would again arrest momentum to push the lead out to 6 goals. However, on the back of an incredible 5 third quarter goals from Hatchy1992, the Dragons would bring the deficit back to just 11 points.

Tugga booted goal number 6 to start the final term. After that Pie 4 Life got on the end of a handball chain to kick a goal and take the margin back down to 10. Dragodelph and Pickitt traded goals and when a big Bradesmaen mark ended up with serial_thrilla converting a long shot for goal from the flank the game with back within a kick. crazywildhorse won an important one on one in the middle to assist Tugga in getting a 7th goal. Nixi followed with a beautiful running goal shortly after to seal the game for the Furies. It is now time to award the EKA Medal for the best rookie of Season 34. The EKA is an award where the committee representatives vote for the top 3 rookies based on posting contribution on a 3-2-1 basis.

This season the rookie class of Season 34 was small but had many strong personalities who have managed to cultivate unique identities and become prominent posters for their respective teams quickly.

Without further ado, here are the votes:

BloodySwan - Sin City Swamprats - 3 votes

kananooks * - Fighting Furies - 6 votes

The Foolback - Gumbies FFC - 7 votes

spudmaster - Coney Island Warriors - 8 votes

Over The Post - Ophidian Old Boys - 10 votes

JyeDye - Fighting Furies - 11 votes: = 3rd

DERRINALPHIL - Roys FFC - 11 votes: = 3rd

Sun Ra - Baghdad Bombers - 17 votes: 2nd

Mrs Turbo - Ophidian Old Boys - 22 votes: 1st

And the winner of the Season 34 EKA Medal for best rookie is Mrs Turbo of the Ophidian Old Boys! The wife of Old Boys captain Tigerturbulance and the star rookie of the SFA's newest club. Mrs Turbo pre-season was thought to just be a list clogger purely signed to get the Old Boys to the minimum list requirement.

If you asked some punters pre-season, they'd think that she would most likely be an inactive and have shorter odds of seeking a divorce than joining Turbo in embracing this lunacy. But Mrs Turbo wins the EKA Medal beating out competition from Sun Ra and both Turbos are now able to tell the doubters to STFU after she won on the back of consistent quality posts and even being involved in a very nicely produced match thread OP.

Well done Mrs T.

In Round 12, the West Coast Wonders hosted the East Side Phoenix at The Colosseum. The Phoenix jumped out to a fast start with the first 2 goals of the game through forwards Itsmyshow and sey666. After Wojcinski put the Wonders on the board, the game would be played in the East Side's forward half. But they would fail to capitalise kicking 4 straight behinds before Itsmyshow's second goal gave them a 16 point lead. The first quarter would end with the Phoenix 14 points up.

A great contested mark by Wojcinski and a subsequent run set up a scoring chain to bring the Wonders back within 8 points after a Soggy2112 goal. But from there the Phoenix would once again dominate - back to back goals to Itsmyshow and then back to back goals to sey666 gave the Phoenix a 34-point buffer. But steadying goals to Wojcinski and jezzajay kept the Wonders in it.

In the third quarter, Itsmyshow took control once again to kick his 5th and 6th goals of the game to push the margin back beyond 5 goals and the Wonders would not managed to bridge the gap again. Phoenix running out 29-point winners.

MP_ led the way for the Phoenix with 25 disposals and 8 tackles in the middle, Itsmyshow ended up with 7 goals and 12 scoring shots. For the Wonders, Soggy2112 had 21 disposals, 2 goals and 10 tackles in a valiant effort.

In Round 12, the Las Vegas Bears travelled to Dragon Island hoping to keep their finals hopes alive against the struggling Dragons. Their desperation was evident as they put in a destructive first quarter performance to knock the Dragons down in the first round.

A 9 goal to 3 display with 5 first-quarter goals to Cap set the tone early. Test Tickle was everywhere providing drive through the middle. The game slowed down in the second term, but the Bears kicked 3 goals through Cap, Campaigner for Good and Muddiemoose to just a single goal for Hatchy1992 for the Dragons. This consolidated the Bears' hold on the game with an 8-goal half time lead.

The Dragons kept trying, Hatchy1992 trying to inspire the Dragons with three goals in the third quarter to help the Dragons win the quarter. Strigoi started winning some ruck contests and the Dragons had momentum, but Electronic_Renaissance kicked two goals in the quarter to keep them at bay.

Cap's 8th goal early in the last killed the contest and the Bears' cruised to a comfortable win.

Neither team could get an advantage early in the game, it wasn't until the 14th minute of the first quarter when NaturalDisaster kicked the first goal of the game after some hard running by Moz (Cadsky). The Bombers responded when a long bomb by Sun Ra slid through the goals. The teams going into quarter time with a goal a piece.

An early goal by gab213 gave the Bombers the lead to start the second quarter, two missed chances by Tugga and then a behind to NaturalDisaster wasting the Furies' momentum. After a long stretch without a goal, omgfridge capitalised to put the Furies up by 4 points, but gab213 would kick an opportunistic goal before half time to give the Bombers back the lead.

Consecutive goals in the middle of the third quarter to Tugga and Pickitt made it look like the Furies would take the game away. But once again, the deadeye gab213 kicked a third goal to bring the margin back under a kick.

The final quarter was an arm wrestle, but when Kohphi broke through to give the Bombers the lead with an amazing 2-bounce running goal in the mud, the floodgates opened. The Furies had run out of gas and the Bombers would pile on 4 unanswered goals in the final quarter to end up winning by 18 points.
