Negatives:

Dixon has missed 3 set shots from 30m out.
Lord had 3 touches for the day. Shouldn't play round 1.
Soldo failed to inspire
Evans didn't really get into it.
Seemed like they scored easily despite our dominance
The Ball movement, the goal kicking (but with the wind maybe that is forgivable)


Positives:

Mead had a really good game. Would be surprised if he isn't the R1 sub
Burgoyne putting in a solid performance, should be a lock for round 1 on the back of his good preseason.
Wines showing those signs of turning a corner.
Burton looking like the prime Burton, not the end of last season player
Rioli in a lot up forward.


Gotta temper a lot of criticism of the scrappyness given the strong windy conditions, as there were a heap of poor mistakes at times, but overall a solid hitout with 3 quarters of convincing footy against a bottom side that we should look convincing against. Not sure we gained a heap out of that other than fitness and a bit of confidence. Would've liked to have seen us tested a bit more as I'm still worried about where we're going to improve, as I can't see any real improvement from last year. Anyway onto round 1 and hoping Butters is good to go.

Burgoyne has been good. A bit scrappy in high wind conditions, as has Rozee, but ultimately he has been good.

He found his feet and good on him. His ceiling is high. I know that so far he's only teased but patience grasshoppers
