Apparently they do. Don't understand why they don't include regional WA though when Oztam records FTA ratings there.

http://oztam.com.au/documents/other/OzTAM National STV Coverage Map - Updated 151011_1.pdf

Explanation is in the footnotes - because regional WA and Tasmanian markets consist of channels which take content from mutilple network affiliations (ie Southern Cross), whereas the markets in regional vic/qld/nsw tend to be more specifically aligned to a network (ie Win - 9, Prime - 7)

Last nights game rated well above average for Melbourne, suggesting regional Vic and Tas would do the same. So if Vic got around 170-190k, Tas around 80k that wouldnt leave much from WA to get 300k. That's excluding the small amount coming from southern NSW
According to thinktv ratings report Fridays game drew a total of 169k regional viewers excluding TAS and WA.

That Nelbie site's link I posted says the total regional figures are:
Geel vs North: 296k
Freo vs Port: 263k

I can understand that for FTA but not for the subscription - why include Tasmania in the national subscription ratings but not regional WA?

No AFL on Saturday or Sunday afternoons will do that. Wonder if the VFL could find a home on commercial tv like the SANFL have and the WAFL are expected to
who knows, with a bit of adverting behind & on to a commerical network behind them, the vfl could be like the NRl.

There are rumours that this sundays VFL GF at Docklands is the last ABC telecast and that CH 7 is looking at the VFL next year maybe on 7Mate.

Channel 7 is set to cover the Victorian Football League next season in a move that could boost the network's chances of broadcasting the WAFL.

No deal has been signed between the network and the VFL but negotiations are understood to be significantly advanced.

The VFL's move to Channel 7 would mirror the arrangements in South Australia where the network has returned strong ratings in the first year of its SANFL coverage.

As a guide..

Information from mediaweek twitter and various Oztam provided top 20 lists. (mediaspy, tvtonight etc)

Mistake with that Sydney figure surely. If not, that's a real worry. That figure is barely better than a H&A game.

I doubt it's a 'mistake', but the difference between 85k and 130k in Sydney is literally a few ratings boxes. Maybe a few bandwagoners attending their first Swans game for the year also had ratings boxes. Or maybe a few flicked over to the NRL when they realised it was a close game.

Foxtel wouldn't help the FTA ratings in Sydney either given it's where their highest market penetration is.
