In the not so distant future
AFL Club
North Melbourne
The AFL has announced Friday Rd7 Essendon v North Melbourne will be a replacement game in Melbourne for North members given we flog three games to Hobart.

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

Essendon home games against North are always fully ticketed at Etihad.

Let alone a Friday night game.

The last game we played was a close final in front of over 78,000 people.

Both sides have made significant off season additions to their squads while also both losing a key player.

Both sides will have 40k+ members next year. In fact, both sides will probably have record memberships.

Why is the AFL apparently so keen to maximise attendance at this fixture?

Why is it appearing to rely on NORTH members to fill the stands at an Essendon home game?

In Rd7.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Normally the Bombers are top 4 and flying in Rd7.

Two Vfl quality sides in front of a Vfl sized crowd

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Richmond fans would kill to make a prelim like we did last year.

Lack of interest from essendon supporters? Is the fix in?

Essendon supporters refuse to believe this but the tribunal isn't a "tribunal" it the "Formal Occasion On Which ASADA Tell The AFL What Penalties To Hand Down".

Like the way ASADA formally told Cronulla?

By God, we are going to come down on you like a ton of bricks for taking not one, but two prohibited substances. You guys are going to miss the last 3 matches of the season! You heard me!! That's 1.5 games for each prohibited substance!!

Looks to me like the AFL are the view that the Bombers are going to miss a lot more than that.

Even on a board that gets a lot of visits from delusional Essendon supporters, Jade's is truly in league of his own.

Don't North only play like 4 away games in Melbourne? And 3 of them have to be "replacement" games?

Big deal. Scraping the barrel here, guess we are nearly 2 years in

It is weird as all hell. Normally the replacement games are Sunday arvo affairs against the Dogs or Dees.

Not Friday nights against a "big" side.

Yet weirdly, out of nowhere, having handed out the infraction notices, the AFL does this.

Fri night vs Essendon at Etihad
Sun arvo vs Collingwood at G
Sat night vs Carlton at Etihad
Sun arvo vs Melbourne at G
Last round vs Richmond at Etihad

You don't play any small clubs except Melbourne

What does it mean?
its a essendon home game at docklands, the afl has given north members free entry as compensation for playing games in hobart. The inference is that there will be fewer essendon members at the game(why??????) and afl does not want empty seats on a friday night tv game so wants north members to fill them
emirite Maddam?

LOL, yeah we have been waiting 34 years to get to a prelim and lose:rolleyes:

Have you brought out the DVD yet:$

To be honest I cant think of anything worse than getting that far and falling over, Ill be smiling when we put number 11 in the cabinet and not before.

I'd like to think that if Carlton players were taught that 1 point is enough to win a game, we'd have dodged Port and gone on to the prelim in Norths place.
(this is a thread for long-bow-drawing, isn't it?)
