Credit to Marc Murphy, copped a lot of flak in the past fortnight, but really stood up today and really lifted in crunch moments of the game .

don't get your hopes up, media is pushing for hogan to get the rising star this week. and we all know the judges don't watch all games. hogan was good but crippa beasted it.

They'll be looking for a good story in Melbourne winning..

Cripps is fairly consistent so he should pluck a nom

Not sure why everyone's saying can't wait to get Warnock back????? Wood in my opinion has gone way past Warnock and even Kreuzer. We won the clearances for the last 2 weeks and credit where it's due. Wood had 15 touches today Warnock wouldn't get that many in a month.

Great to get our first win :thumbsu:

Positives:
  1. Cripps was MASSIVE and ran the whole game out, which is a great sign for his fitness.
  2. Murphy returned to form with plenty of hard ball and made good use of his possessions more than previous weeks.
  3. A nice 5-goal haul for Henderson.
  4. The whole team worked their way into the game - Bell was quiet and then hit the scoreboard strongly after half time, Ellard's pressure got better and better, Tuohy worked his way into it, Armfield nullified Savage (and probably won't get much of a mention for his job) and then started hurting the opposition with his possessions in the second half.
  5. Dominated the middle of the park and actually turned that into scores.
  6. Buckley's first game back was a good one.
  7. Boekhorst showed some very good signs and worked hard in the contest too.
  8. Everitt's run was good as usual.
  9. Structures and game plan was much better - we didn't have as much trouble getting it out of D50 and we also used the corridor with good effect a bit.
Negatives:
  1. Our defensive setup, particularly in the first half, was pretty bad. Not a lot of cohesion and some bad turnovers.
  2. Handpassing was shocking in the first half all over the ground.
  3. Gibbs faded in and out.
  4. Rowe had a poor game.
  5. Casboult woeful in front of goal and Jones wasn't that much better.
  6. It was St Kilda. We need to be much better across four quarters against top four sides if we don't want to be embarrassed.

Walker didn't have the greatest of games but worked his way into it. Disposal was still a bit off sometimes, but he can be forgiven in his second game back for quite some time. Docherty was also good today without standing out. Still key to our improvement is decision-making, skills and converting set shots. Fundamental stuff we need to get better at.

If that was round 1, we would all take that. I will be pretending this is the case. Onwards and upwards!

A win is a win is a win. But how long do we persist with Levi?

The time has come to trial Casboult at CHB, he is a great contested mark and can easily go body to body. We cannot keep playing him as a key forward when it is near impossible for him to kick accurately.

FB : Jaksch
CHB : Casboult
CHF : Henderson
FF : Watson

Finally got a win
Cripps, Bell, Hendo, Tuohy fantastic game
Murphy worked hard
Buckley back

_
Jones and Casboult are not AFL standard forwards
Rowe had a stinker
Murphy playing for frees too much
Gibbs not blocking for Cripps (a goal doesn't excuse him IMO)
