List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade & FA 2024

Not really thinking Cameron, but there is another ruck playing senior footy. In all seriousness though Bryan/ Moyle>>>>>any mature guy not on a list because that’s how much better they are than everyone else not at senior level. Pro scouting though Lobb is the one I’m open to.

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade & FA 2024

Setting aside that he’s a long way from NBA relevant I would have thought being on scholarship with a big US college is not something you walk away from to try your hand at a domestic sport…

That was what I was thinking on getting the tone of it. Not sure I’d have included that myself…

Player Watch Daniel McStay (Injured His Knee #1370)

The big watch from here would surely be swelling or soft tissue because those movements look relatively dynamic for a guy that had ACL surgery 6 months ago.

I 100% get the tone of your post, but for once I agree with the schmock. Bryan is alongside Moyle as the best ruck without a current senior role. He’s AFL ready in 2025.

List Mgmt. 2024 Mid Season Draft

Nope. At that time our ruck stocks were Grundy, Cox and Lynch who was about on par with Begg so he was a perfect 3rd in option. The correct balance on a list is 4 ruckman, IMO, so he was the right fit at the right time just as I suggested Meek would have been back in 2022 (que sera). I also...

List Mgmt. 2024 Mid Season Draft

No he would not have played 5 matches this year. If he were the player you’d described and so highly regarded that he’d have pushed past Cox then we’d have brought him onto the list in February. The reason he’s a side grade is because he’s not an improvement on Begg or Steene. To reiterate...

List Mgmt. 2024 Mid Season Draft

This is where I was at pre the Begg injury although I’d be more lenient on suggesting it was a waste. I think Begg was going to struggle, but he at least had 12 weeks to give it his absolute best and we could then address it at year end. Now though that might be 4-6 weeks at the back end...

List Mgmt. 2024 Mid Season Draft

The Begg injury has shifted my thinking on what we do here. Unlike others I’m not convinced that it’s necessarily Teakle the catch is without a mid season trade period alternatives look thin on the ground for ready made types. I’m also opposed to the thought of carrying 5 ruckmen on the list...

    List Mgmt. 2024 Draft Class

Shifter and any draft analyst he works with will need to profile a couple of hundred players to make sure they can ramble on draft night. A “top 75” is unusual to me because the Hun is happy to publish that much content, but not an indicator of draft depth.

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

Really? From the starting 18 only Markov and HH didn’t play v Brisbane or Hawthorn and we then have both Elliott and WHE on the bench. Seems a fair bit better than crap to me, but the bottom 6 would be the weakest it’s been this year by a fair way.

Exactly what I thought when I read it! heck me we all know we’re old and that the sun sets on everyone. That’s not news.

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

Probably because that post isn’t a complete reflection of how things played out. Bytel was better on the day and is building a body of work that’s now on the verge of being tested at senior level.

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade & FA 2024

Geelong are a curious case. There’s a lot of meh amongst all those trades and as you said the system is designed to advantage them through the Falcons. IMO, Touhy has been a good contributor and Henry will be for a decade to come, but the only reason they’ve stayed up has been Danger and...

    List Mgmt. 2024 Draft Class

Yeah because they have zero market value and a contract from Collingwood is far safer than an opposition club in 2025 (McInnes is OOC, but will get a year unless he comes from the clouds making it 2). That comment is as also made a number of weeks back and things change very quickly.

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

He’s the same size as 2023. The difference is opposition clubs are challenging him differently this year. On Friday we had Mihocek pulling Weitering outside 50 whenever we could, but with Q the opposition are supposedly pulling him a kick and a half to the fat side so he can’t intercept in 2 v 1...

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

It’s what he was doing for most of the back half of 2023 and what piqued my interest in him for this year. The problems been that until Saturday we hadn’t seen it. My guess is it’s enough to get him back in, but probably as the sub.

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

Waterman is a massive blow! I’ve been keeping an eye on the odds because I thought they were ripping value at the line and they jumped to $8 H2H last night so I’m thinking what’s this about. Waterman out would explain that easily. There’s still value there because 42 points seems a lot with how...

Pie 4 Life quick one if you’re buzzing about. What was the knock on Dear last year? Watching yesterday he has three traits that scream AFL to me at least. He’s got length (I swear his wingspan isn’t standard for a player of his height), he’s got pop so he springs to take it at the highest point...

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

I actually agree with management on that one. Collingwood get what 4-5 Foxtel exclusive matches a year and not one person is choosing not to tune into them because of the commentators. I’ve seen it from Mooney and obviously Dunstall, but Dixon is a surprise he was in our corner last night and I...

    Player Watch Lachie Schultz

Because he’s doing what we recruited him to do. What he’s doing off ball with pressure, tackling and cover run is what he was recruited for and he’s elite in those areas. The goals and assists are cream on top with him, but it’s what gives you nourishment hence looking like he’s forcing it.
  23. Scodog10

    Player Watch Lachie Schultz

It’s funny I thought it was one of the more solid 9 possession games I’ve seen. He had three moments where you’re thinking come on Shoota, but all of that was countered by his 2nd quarter goal how he marked that I’ll never know. He’s down this year, but we smashed them in the pressure game and...

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

Underwood>Hudson. The call of Hudson’s was better, but injecting the Star 21 plug was cringe. Call the moment and plug the sponsor once we’re back in the centre square. I find his attempts to be a cut price Commetti awful at times, but Russell’s ability to change his tempo was best by a mile, IMO.

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

It’s actually Edmund for me. There’s something I find really ick about a news breaker being so biased. It makes me uncomfortable with Ed as well and if I were a neutral I’d have hated him.
  26. Scodog10

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

Why does this still get raised? He is an absolute stud through the midfield when fit and drifts in and out of games as a forward. Look at Heeney 2023 v 2024 that’s what you’re getting from JDG in each role.

Game Day Round 9 vs. WCE, Marvel, 1:00pm Sun 12/05

I don’t think it can be. Any strike not in play is considered intentional and they would really have to stretch to classify that as in play. Intentional, high contact and low impact is a week. To not miss next week it needs to considered insufficient force or not a reportable offence (whichever...

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

I agree they executed well for what we allowed them to do, but that’s very different to them not being able to play much better. For me they aren’t going to be -30 odd tackles and lose stoppage again this season so they were a fair way off. FWIW I get your angle because I think you’re loathe...

    Toast Round 8 = Carlton 79-85 Collingwood

Have you watched them the past 12 months? Were you watching their ball movement after QT? Their stoppage work? That was the worst they’ve been for a while and we should have won by 4 + goals. After QT they were beaten at stoppage, their struggles to win contest following stoppage wins, their...
