Castagna and Butler have declined so much over the summer, I wonder what they did they never been skilled players but the pressure they put on isn't there anymore Hardwick has too much faith in these guys that helped win the Premiership he needs to drop them now, Clarko and Beveridge would have by now.

At least Butler had a full pre season , Costagna was in a moon boot for a while & no practice matches etc !

But when we have Baker Bolton Arts in reserve , he should have had to come through the VFL , build fitness & force his way into the team with good form !

He obviously kicks ok at training, and must have at the lower levels. It’s just a massive lack of composure under pressure unfortunately. If he just slowed down a little bit he’d be a lot better. He’s hard at it and explosive and just needs to go back to the twos and find a way to play more calmly.
Take Townsend for example who like George isn’t a natural yet is hard and explosive too like Castagna without George’s wheels admittedly, but one thing he does do is take a second to compose himself when disposing of the footy or kick at goal. Blokes like George, Ellis and even Butler now just don’t take that split second and panic when disposing of the footy.

Lost the skills of a senior footballer at minute - needs to find them, or at least attempt to find them again in the proper surrounds.

The VFL.

The way he uses the ball like a gun before he takes his shots doesn't give the ball a chance to compose itself.

Good call, Townsend is a surprisingly good user of the ball because as you say he doesn't hurry. Pity he's not quick.

plenty of tackles pressure and some goal assists onto next week for the chaos king castagna

Not wanting to be critical after such a great win in which he gave everything but he was the least impressive of all our smalls. Thought Baker and Bolton had him covered.

Baker spotting up Lynch inside 50 with a 45m bullet in the last resulted in a goal that iced the game for us. Put the ball in Georges hands rather than Bakers and it’s a turnover and perhaps a different result
