Pick 40- Brisbane Lions- Phoenix Gothard
At pick 40 the brisbane lions select Phoenix Gothard

from rookie me central

SNAPSHOT: “One of the draft’s most athletically gifted players, Phoenix Gothard is a creative force up forward with his ability to get into space and put speed on the ball.”

Hailing from Albury, Gothard was able to show his wares for the Murray Bushrangers in the Coates Talent League, while also being linked to the Allies for the National Championships.

He played a key hand for the Bushies in the forward half, able to make the most of his opportunities inside 50, but also capable of pushing up the ground and showing off his disposal skill heading forward.

Gothard showed flashes of brilliance for the Allies, playing all four games in their title-winning run. He averaged 10 touches and a goal at representative level, while putting up 16 disposals, four marks, four tackles, four inside 50s and a goal per his 10 Talent League outings.

Can Sydney trade there next pick (which is soon) with a future 3rd for the next selection? Saints I feel

You can trade future picks, but the picks this year have been used with the matching of the caiden Cleary bid

Wouldn't of accepted at #30 with a few of the names still on the board!

I honestly have NFI who I am

Pick 42- Richmond- Will Green
With the Tigers second pick in the draft we're adding a player who quite honestly should have been snapped up by now given the range he sits in in most phantoms, Twomey has him being taken at 16 in his current phantom.

Will Green 204cm 93kg Ruck Northern Knights

A ruck capable of dominating the domain on his day, Green has seldom had an issue racking up hitouts. This year, his averages of 22.8 hitouts and 6.5 to advantage at Coates Talent League level were boosted to 24.3 and 8.0 in the National Championships, highlighting his ability against the best possible opposition. Ruck craft is clearly Green's top trait and he's a clever hitter, often improvising while utilising his size and reach.

He may not be a particularly high-production player elsewhere just yet, but is certainly taking great strides in that department. Green's best game this year came in Round 9 with the Knights, where he posted 22 disposals, five marks, 18 hitouts and two goals. His ability to take grabs around the ground, follow up on his ruck work, and even impact up forward were ultra impressive.

Though, that effort was more so an indicator of his ceiling rather than the norm. Of Green's 13 Talent League games, nearly half yielded single-digit disposals and he only hit the scoreboard in two of them. Going forward, boosting his consistency of production and maintaining a steadier output from week to week will be key to proving just how effective Green can be as the primary ruck.

It's certainly an attainable goal. The 204cm big man is mobile and has a great running base. His 2km time at the National Draft Combine (6:34) is up there with some midfielders in the same crop, and allows him to move from contest to contest. If he can get his hands on the ball, Green's fundamental skills and overall mechanics are quite sound too, meaning he can join in on the play with high efficiency and little fuss.

With enough nourishment in an AFL environment, Green can become a tall who does many things which are elite for a player his size. He kicks well, moves well, has clean hands, runs down smaller players, and is an extremely dextrous with his touch. With those attributes combined, there is more than enough substance to see him given a chance, and the best is yet to come.

In this phantom I've opted to replace what we lost at the trade table with a young KPF in Reid and a young ruck in Green replacing Soldo and Nyoun. IMO this would give Yze a well rounded list to begin his tenure with and would also allow him to take a good look at our young group of midfielders/flankers who didn't get much opportunity under Hardwick before Yze starts making the changes he wants.

By the time nank is ready to hang up the boots
Young Green should be about to blossom
Great choice RT last time we had a ruck named Green
We won 4 flags in 7 years let's hope history repeats

Pick 43- Melbourne Demons- Joel Freijah
Pick 42 - Melbourne - Joel FREIJAH - 191cm - Midfielder

Deelighted to get this guy, really rate him highly. Was at Mars Stadium to watch him where he put on a clinic. He’s a beautiful mover and elite skills.

A wingman who has real composure, is clean below his knees and distributes the ball very well. Announced himself as an AFL prospect when he kicked six goals from 26 disposals in the GWV Rebels’ loss to the Dandenong Stingrays in Round 4. He holds his width when playing on the wing, providing his team with an outlet option with its ball movement. Had a consistent year at club level averaging 19.6 disposals in 14 matches for the Rebels and finished third in the club’s best and fairest while playing in all four matches for Victoria Country. A strong all-round athlete, he ran a time of 2.98 seconds in the 20m sprint during pre-season testing and then completed the 2km time trial in 6:13 at the national Draft Combine.

Pick 44- GWS- Shaun Mannagh
Pick 43- gws giants
At 175 CM, 80 kgs 26 years old
Norm GOSS medal,
We pick up SEAN MANNAGH
over 120 vfl games,,great player
Arguably the best player not on an afl list
Remember wanting him when he played at Richmond
Great talent a match winner,, I think he could do a kane lambert and play 100 + games, ,love his goal kicking nous, and his centre square dominance, will sit right on the cusp of our best 23, but with hard work and a little luck I have no doubt he will make it,
He is a ready made plug in player, can play mid or fwd , and him and stormy Daniels will make a great dynamic duo,
So go get em Sean, 👏 💪 🤪
Did seriously consider Tom Brindley 😳 🤔 but might rookie him
Sean was too good not to select

Has Sydney Stack been selected yet ?

Pick 45- Fremantle- Sam Van Rooyen
at pick 45 fremantle select sam van rooyen, a wa player who offers key position versatility but taken with taberners injury history and amiss and treacy slighty undersized van rooyen can provide more support

Pick 47- Brisbane Lions- Cam Nyko
Brisbane select Cam Nyko a half back from the eastern rangers, with rich retiring and zorko coming close to the end we have opted to bolster our depth in this area with nyko, to go along with the earlier archie roberts selection

Was tossing up between Green and Freijah for my pick and couldn't go past Green.

In the actual draft I'm still keen on Archer Reid & George Stevens, but if either are gone I'd like to see us take Joel, think he'd have a lot to offer on the wide open spaces of the MCG Southern Stand Wing
