Is Edwards the kind of guy (like Melksham/Kommer) that you give games to and hope he makes it.. or is he the kind of guy that you let develop in the VFL (EKav) and make him 'earn' games?

I think earn it. If people are saying he doesn't try enough, we need to make him earn it, not just spoon feed him games and make him get ahead of himself.

I'm more excited about Edwards for sure, genuinely quick and versatile and has a few tricks with ball in hand. Reckon he just scratched the surface at GWS.

Aylett i think is another solid prospect, but Edwards has massive potential for mine and someone I did not at all expect to be attainable for pick 48

Havent really taken much notice of these two to be honest but who are we more excited about, Edwards or Aylett?
Kurt seems like a genuinely great bloke who has slotted straight in and made many mates already.

Shaun could be a GREAT player of potential but hasn't seemed to have fitted in straight away like Kurt. He will, just might take a little longer. We need to find him a friend quickly so that he feels even more at home and has a better chance to develop.

Kouta as Edwards calls him is already mates, maybe get Paddy or Licha to take Shagger under their wing

Yeah but just from what I have seen on those Pre-Season video clips, Kurt has slotting in with Jake Carlisle and the boys. Obviously Shaun and Kurt would have been together at the very beginning as they explored the club together. They all seem kind and welcoming to Shaun, but he seems on his own a bit. He was doing handballing drills with the trainer and seems to be just doing the training and not really getting to know everyone. It's only 2-3 minute clips I know but it's the way I have interpreted them.

Johnny Rayner doesn't seem to have gone as well as Kurt, but he seems to be getting to know the boys better than Shauny.

I could be completely wrong as I said, but those are the understandings the video clips are giving me.

You are tripping man..as if you can tell that from 3 minutes of video, next thing you'll be saying he isn't playing to the camera...reality check..

Watch it again, looking for those things.

It's footy training not big brother, you are reading too much into it...if you seriously think he should be worried about making friends rather than training I think it would be fair to say you have never really been in a team situation, that stuff happens off the field..

Yeah clubs are pretty big on the team bonding stuff these days. He'll be spitroasting some chick with BJ soon enough.

I watched, but did you actually listen to what he said?? FFS man, he's getting in with Fletch so he can play with his kids, honestly have a good listen to what he says and your point is completely wrong as you suggested..

I've already checked the tea leaves, and they tell me Shaun Edwards has made exactly 7 friends at EFC, but that will double by Christmas.

It was peppermint tea though, so I might have to double check on the crystal ball...

The thing I got from that vid is how smooth he moves. We don't have anybody else that has this trait, with Dempsey coming closest. Worth the gamble.

Of all the weird and strange ways to deal with offseason ennui, fretting over the new draft picks making friends like they are our kids' on their first day at High School has got to be one of the oddest.

I have worked out that Johnny Raynor is great friends with Dustin Fletcher because a video showed them shaking hands
I see he's also besties with Kyle Hardingham and Heath Hocking when they toured the HPC together and stood talking in a circle
I'm a little worried because he won the time trial so much so he wasn't running with anyone else he was all on his own
I am also worried about Michael Hibberd because while the other boys were socialising after the training, he was giving an interview

Kurt and Sean came from the same team so they have an existing relationship, I just hope they weren't in different cliques at GWS so like Kurt was with the preppy boys like Jonathan while Sean was with the troublemakers like Toby. But they know each other so hopefully Kurt can tell Jake Carlisle "hey Sean's cool don't worry man".

Freaking awesome.

Was never a gamble, always a steal at pick 48. Would have been solid at pick 32 ffs Cannot understand how we pulled it off even now...

Edwards will be a very classy and polished player in our midfield.

You want a Stevie Motlop type player, this is the type of guy you mould on to him. Has all the tools.
