NRL 2012 Melbourne Storm Thread

I am going. Fly up at 10am tomorrow morning. If anyone here is going and wants to have a pre-game drink, pm me.

I wish Tugga. I'll be at the Crown Largerfield Bar & Beer Gardens watching the game on the big screen and cheering the boys on. Doors open at 2pm if anyone is interested. Level 2. Better than staying at home and fretting.

There are heaps of fans flying to Sydney (many in the Thundersquad - allocated bays for storm fans, so there maybe a spare seat there for you).

If you use the payment plan you can get a GA membership for about $20/month.
That's not bad, I was looking on their website but I couldn't find a reference to the payment plan. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Fire Storm I don't have kids but I like your thinking lol

There's an update in the storm section at LU - which is surprisingly kinds pro storm at moment. Can't find any updated list at the official site. I'm sure somebody could give us an idea of who's leaving and the new signings etc.

Jeez Bulldogs in all sorts of strife.

Mad Monday controversy, locking the rooms after the game which is against NRL rules. Players biting other players. Fans acting like morons.

It turned to s**t pretty quickly for them. Feel sorry for those at that club that worked so hard to fix it's image.

Civic Reception for the storm boys tomorrow outside Crown Casino at 12noon.
Such short notice though, received a text from the Storm at 5.30pm and I have appt booked for that time.
Very disappointed I can't go.

Gee it was a fantastic day and night to be a part of.
Weather was great and the atmosphere before the game was great. Lots of families. I encountered no abuse or aggressiveness etc.
I could not move in the 2nd half due to nerves. With 3 minutes to go I know we had it. I sat in the Thunder Squad area where that part of the stadium was full of Storm. The rest was blue and white.
No hassles after the game either. A few Bulldogs cretins yelling out some stuff (young women mind you - foul mouthed bitches) while waiting for the train back to Central, but mostly were all OK with it.

Wouldn't mind seeing Widdop take the penalty/try conversions a bit more often. He seems to handle the tricky ones better than Smith, who's missed more than he should have this year.

I was sitting up the Doggies end (bought my ticket in a bout of optimism back in July) and their supporters weren't too bad up there. Certainly not abusive as I've heard others report. One even congratulated me after the game!

A lot of talk of "it's only a matter of time until they're busted for the salary cap again" at the train station which I thought was a bit rich coming from Canterbury supporters ;)
