Quickpoll, theres no right answer, just interested in opinions.

Lets say the draft fairy granted dalrymple that his first player picked was guaranteed to reach his advertised potential.

Who would you take at our pick (that is likely to be available), and why?

For the sake of argument, Skippos B onwards category players will be available at our first pick:

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/skipposs-2015-draft-resource.1097140/

10. Callum Ah Chee - WA (182.0 cm, 71.0 kg - Small Forward)
11. Kieran Collins - VC (193.0 cm, 94.0 kg - Key Defender)
12. Wayne Milera - SA (185.0 cm, 75.0 kg - Small Forward/Outside Midfielder)
13. Harry McKay - VC (200.0 cm, 85.0 kg - Key Forward/Ruck)
14. Eric Hipwood - QLD (200.0 cm, 82.0 kg - Key Position Utility)
15. Riley Bonner - SA (191.0 cm, 79.0 kg - General Utility)
16. Darcy Tucker - VC (184.0 cm, 78.0 kg - Small Defender/Outside Midfielder)
17. Harley Balic - VM (186.0 cm, 80.0 kg - Small Forward/Outside Leaning Midfielder)
18. Ben Keays - QLD (183.0 cm, 78.0 kg - Balanced Midfielder/Small Forward)
19. Ryan Clarke - VM (180.0 cm, 77.0 kg - Outside Leaning Midfielder)
20. Sam Weideman - VM (196.0 cm, 91.0 kg - Key Forward)
21. Ben McKay - VC (200.0 cm, 91.0 kg - Key Utility)
22. Clayton Oliver - VC (187.0 cm, 86.0 kg - Inside Midfielder)
*23. Jadyn Brind - SA (181.0 cm, 86.0 kg - Medium Forward/Inside Leaning Midfielder)
24. Ryan Burton - SA (191.0 cm, 83.0 kg - General Forward) (Ranking assumes no long term issues re: injury)
25. Reuben William - QLD (181.5 cm, 73.8 kg Midfielder)
26. Luke Partington - SA (182.0 cm, 75.0 kg - Outside Leaning Midfielder)
27. Jade Gresham - VM (177.0 cm, 74.0 kg - Balanced Midfielder)
28. Mitchell Hibberd - TAS (191.0 cm, 85.0 kg - Small Defender/Midfielder)

For mine, I think I would take Collins. A guaranteed Wingard / Kennedy sounds better as individual players, but from a team-winning-games POV, a guaranteed Daniel Talia who we could put on the oppositions 'that guy who regularly kicks 6 goals on us' and stop him? Gold.
If available, and a certainty to reach their peak I'd take hipwood. Otherwise Collins/Oliver.

Which well known player would they emulate if they did?
One is a 200cm KPD, similar to a taller harry tailor and the other is a 200cm KPF similar to Trav Cloke from what I've seen.

Liking Collins a lot from what I've been reading. Just seems to be exactly what were crying out for down back, and he's born in december too isn't he? Hopefully he's got a few more cm in him. What are the chances he's gone before 11?

I couldn't believe that Collins was born so late. He looks like a 30 year old. Imagine if he grows a whole lot more. He'd be a monster.

It's pretty hard to gauge whether he'd be available at our pick. That group outside of the top 3 just looks so even.

Collins I think. I like his one on one competitive work and it's not often he's beaten on the lead. Guards space very well. Very strong overhead mark makes smart decisions when he has it and is reliable by hand and foot. The issue as it's been mentioned before is his agility. Can get turned around a bit too easily. I think he should be ok if he sticks to the big forwards though. Hamling, Wood, Cordy can take the athletic forwards.

I really like Weideman as well, I think he would go top 5 if it wasn't for injuries. But there's probably a bit too many question marks on him for us and our forward structure though.

Which well known player would they emulate if they did?

Ben McKay reminds me a lot of Cale Hooker early on in his career. Very strong in one on one contests and competes hard. Doesn't do a lot offensively on what I've seen, although he took like 5 contested/intercept marks in one game apparently so has the potential to do it like Hooker has done.

Harry is a tough one to compare. He likes to get up the ground a lot like a Nick Riewoldt and push back hard. He doesn't really launch himself over packs like Nick though, plays a bit differently.

How would you describe his playing style? What sort of opponents would he play on? As I said I've only taken minimal notice of him and it can be difficult to judge defenders without seeing them live and tracking their movements.

Wouldn't mind getting Skippos ' thoughts on Glass-McCasker either. 198cm shutdown defenders with the combination of elite agility and reach aren't exactly easy to find.

I haven't seen a great deal, so I might be completely off. But his game sense and decision making I'm not a fan of at all. I also doubt he could take the bigger forwards at the next level. He's more suited to the athletic talls and could potentially play on the mediums given his athletic traits. He might be able to have a similar career to that of Dylan Grimes perhaps, where he can just lock down on an medium or tall opponent. I have my doubts though.

Kids that are still growing tend to be skinny? I dont think you fill out like Collins has until you have stopped growing.

Three-kilometre time trial

Joshua Schoenfeld - 9:15 minutes

Thomas Jok - 9:47

Mitchell Hibberd - 10:02

Declan Mountford - 10:04
Brayden Hackett - 10:06

Ben Keays - 10:09

Daniel Rioli - 10:09

Will Snelling - 10:10

Mason Redman - 10:12

Nash Holmes - 10:16

So Darcy Macpherson has finished in these categories at the combine

Beep Test: =10th
Running Vertical Jump: 7th
Agility Test: =8th
Clean Hands Test: = 2nd(?)
Kicking Test: 3rd

Seems like an all round athlete and a good ball user. Might have pushed himself back up into third round contention. Seems like a hard worker and mentally strong unlike a certain someone. I really hope he gets the chances, he loves the club. Pretty impressive combine to finish in the top 10 in five categories and I'm sure he will be up there in the others

Doesn't look great from the eye, but its still 70% efficiency by foot and is a hard drill. I think the best player only got 24/26 if I recall correctly

He is a lot more athletic than I thought. Good on him for putting in all the hard work. Could tell by his figure when they were doing his skin fold tests that he has the right physique for AFL and puts in a lot of work outside of games. Many of the draftees are still skinny bean poles

Yep the best player was Mitchell Hibberd with 24, Darcy was equal third with his 22.

With Darcy looking good and probably more suited to spending time forward than Hrovat I think it now has to be close to a certainty that we trade Hrovat while we can. Sad because I love the bloke but think it just has to be done.

Would I be right in saying Dmac could be like a more polished Honey?
