How can wear and tear be a factor for any travelling sides when you're sitting on your arse enjoying all the creature comforts of a modern aeroplane for 4-6 hours maximum getting paid anywhere from 300-800k per year? Don't get it!
Take it you don't travel much...

while it's good to see my own side on friday nights, i'd like to see it spread around a bit more amongst those not playing any. fair to say that we've saturated the viewing the last few years, seems people would rather watch other teams even though half our games this year were quite close against good teams.
rd. 7 - 34pt loss to collingwood
rd. 12 - 5pt loss to geelong
rd. 13 - 28pt loss to hawthorn after a close game for 3 quarters
rd. 18 - 23pt win over NM
rd. 19 - 5pt loss to freo
rd. 21 - 6pt loss to geelong
rd. 22 - massive loss to PA

Aside from Geelong in Round 12 and the first 3/4 of the Hawthorn + North games, none of these were really worth watching. Ditto Richmond's Friday night games this year - only 1-2 were interesting from a neutral POV (several of theirs were, in fact, downright horrible). Close margin doesn't necessarily = good match.

Whilst Carlton, Richmond and Collingwood attract large TV audiences and rake in $$$ due to the size of their supporter bases (the obvious motivation behind giving them so many Fri nights), a balance needs to be struck.
