Sepang has been resurfaced this year and parts have been modified. Mostly, this has just been ironing out bumps, re-shaping runoff areas and altering drainage paths. Most notably though, the final hairpin has been re-profiled. The inside kerb was raised by 1 metre, leading to a ridiculously off-cambered hairpin. Very easy to lock the inside front now and quite a few drivers had a spin there in the practice sessions.

Q1 107% time - 1:41.055 Note - Alonso penalised 45 grid places for unscheduled power unit element changes.

Lewis has had the upper hand all weekend over Rosberg. If he actually gets off the line, he should have it secured. Although, this is Malaysia, a grand prix which is often rain affected, and when it does rain, it absolutely pours. Who knows, maybe this will throw the field into disarray and we see two McLarens and a Force India up on the podium tomorrow.

Also notable is that unless Jenson's McHonda shits itself on the way to the grid tomorrow, it will be his 300th start in Formula 1. Only Rubens Barrichello (322) and Michael Schumacher (306) have had more.

Hamilton's pole lap was. 4 seconds faster than Rosberg's best. Not too shabby. Of course, it won't mean anything if he screws up off the line.

Max gets one over Danny in quali, but the margins between the rest are pretty tight.

Verstappen has shown good pace over long stints in practice, and seems quicker that Ricciardo here. It will still require a crash for a Merc not to win
I reckon it'll take a Lewis crash. Nico looks beatable today but itll take a mistake free run from the others.

Massa stalled.

After collecting on JJ with the Norm Smith yesterday, dropped a cheeky bet on VES to win paying $19.... so come on MERC, take each other out on the first lap please :D

Palmer losing power. Like dude really hasn't shown anything positive this season. Luck hasn't been looking down on him.

*...the Ferrari is out.
